Description


This position is responsible for the loading and unloading of containers that arrive and depart from the facility of Interpuerto, following the Internal Regulations of Transportation that applies in the activities inside the facility, also is responsible for providing support and taking care of any incident or accident that happens inside of the facility.


This position is responsible for the follow-up and attention given to clients of ramps and private industries in the central region.

Automotive industries as is the case of GM and BMW in Jesus Maria; SLP, GM in Silao; GJ, Nissan in Aguascalientes; Ags.

Intermodal private ramps as is the case of Kappa Intermodal in Villa de Reyes; SLP and LIT in San Luis Potosi; SLP.


Accountabilities

  • Supervises the operational work of loading and unloading containers on railway platforms.
  • Supervises compliance with the standards of the direction of the intermodal and automotive area, following rules such as permanence of units, correct car in correct train, customer compliance, compliance with work orders for trains and yard services, origin trains, arrival trains, review line delays for each train key performance indicators.
  • Supervises the personnel in charge, verifying the fulfillment of the functions of each one of them with the intention of developing their potential and taking the best decisions for the operation.
  • Supervises the formation of the train for the correct departure from the terminal and station.
  • Communicates with the Health and Safety area to follow the Internal Regulations of Transportation applied to the Intermodal terminal "Interpuerto".
  • Supervises the correct use of railway equipment in private industries, as well as the positioning and removal of equipment.
  • Attends work meetings and conferences for the execution of plans with the KCSM team.
  • Generates internal reporting to support operation.
  • Collaborates closely with HR, Labor Relations in Mexico to share staff information according to their behavior, way of working, overtime, etc.
  • Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and vendors. Anyone inside the facility.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Business, Business Administration, Business Engineering or a related major field of study.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an operative position, administrative, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • 5 years of work experience as a supervisor.
  • Railroad knowledge or experience.
  • Personnel management.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include afterhours, weekends and holidays.
  • Business travel is an essential requirement of this job.
