Objective


Provides support on assigned Projects/Program(s) to ensure that the project is executed in accordance with EMS, customer, and company quality requirements.

Regularly interacts with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including Project Management, design engineering, purchasing, construction, the program office, and all production and inspection personnel in the assigned project.


Responsibilities**:
  • Verification of the quality of materials and workmanship used, including the procurement process, FAT testing and SAT testing.
  • Review the visual inspection reports developed by the contractors of the work performed and follow up on the observations detected, providing suggestions for repair or correction if necessary.
  • Make random verifications at the end of the work in compliance with the Quality applicable to the Project, Codes, Standards and Mexican regulations.
  • Verify the existence of photographic evidence from the contractors showing that the work that has been covered (such as reinforcing steel reinforcement) was carried out in accordance with the plans. These photographs will be part of the signed quality verification report issued by the contractors.
  • Sampling of the quality certificates of the materials.
  • Verify that there is evidence that samples are taken, and applicable laboratory tests are performed. Verify that the corresponding reports exist and are controlled.
  • Monitor welding work to verify that approved welding procedures and welder qualification tests are in place.
  • Participates in audits of site infrastructure construction and associated processes.
  • Inspects welds (including related records and documentation) for nonconformances and defects.
  • Supports the Owner's Quality Organization in conducting audits of contractors and subcontractors on the client's project.
  • Reviews and comments on QA/QC plans, processes and procedures prepared by the Contractor.
  • Collaborate with construction and engineering professionals to identify potential quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Oversee and evaluate mechanical installation activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications
  • Oversee mechanical testing, such as pressure testing and ultrasonic testing
  • Review equipment and materials to ensure that they meet project requirements
  • Participate in the development of quality control programs
  • Ensure compliance with all job site protocols and safety standards
  • Monitor and report on the progress of mechanical construction activities
  • Ensure implementation, review and approval of the contractor's ITP.
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Reporting on Quality activities.
  • Liaison with Contractor on Quality related matters.
  • Internal and external audits and followup on corrective actions.
  • Overall control, supervision, and implementation of quality and technical aspects of the project.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Will be familiar with quality tools and their uses.

Education and Ratings**:
  • University degree, or equivalent, in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping and welding inspection on construction projects.
  • Advanced/superior knowledge of storage tank construction and related facilities.
  • Must possess strong technical knowledge of materials, welding, drawings, data sheets and general design activities. and general design activities.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME and AWS.
  • Experience with various types of welding, such as SMAW, GTAW and GMAW.
  • Familiarity with welding inspection tools, such as micrometers, ultrasonic gauges, and calipers.
  • Knowledge in NDT techniques (PT, MT, RT, UT).
