Automation Technical
Professional - Assistant (Entry Level) to be based in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico for a
short-term contract position.

The
Automation Technical Professional Assistant will have a background in Information Technology.

This individual will work in the field at client facilities and have the ability to work effectively and diligently as a team member in front of internal and external customers.


You will have the rare opportunity to develop your understanding of Control System Network equipment and gain hands-on experience under the direct mentorship of our Automation and Control professional engineers.

Our automation team work on hands-on projects that span the full spectrum - from small integration projects to Main Automation Contractor programs for large, multi-EPC projects.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support senior level staff in on-site Control System Network preventive maintenance including:
  • Removal/reinstallation of racked network/computer equipment to support preventive maintenance.
  • Cleaning of racked equipment.
  • Coordinate and assist with HSSE and travel requirements for the project team throughout the project duration.
  • Support resolution of technical issues identified during the preventive maintenance activities.
  • Travel (driving) expected to customer locations for project implementation (100%). Client facilities are in the following areas.
  • Casas Grandes and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua
  • Caborca, Cananea, and Agua Prieta Sonora

Habilidades / Cualificación:

Skills/ Qualifications

  • Desire to learn and a willingness to jump in for onthejob training, and preferably a background in Information Technology or related area.
  • Must be reside in the Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua metropolitan area.
  • Experience with an operating company, systems vendor, or engineering services provider for the onshore or offshore oil & gas and/or energy industry, is preferred.
  • Zero to Three years Information Technology experience.
  • Experience with the following is desired, but not required:
  • Data Communications and Networking
  • LAN networks, Ethernet wireless, switching, routing, and firewalls.
  • Server and/or desktop equipment
  • Knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and vendors in person and remotely.
  • Valid driver's license is required; Travel (driving a car) to/at client facilities (100%) is expected.
  • Must be Mexican Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Mexico, without sponsorship from Wood.
