About the Role:


Lead the import process - related to the expansion of manufacturing plants, dry components and raw materials including communication with supplier in accordance with the rules to import and classify products of this nature, review of shipping instruction, review of invoice, B/L and other documents, overseeing the customs broker and taking the lead of the end-to-end import operation up to the delivery to the site, including updates to cross-functional areas.


Ensure Diageo Taxes team guidelines regarding applicable trade, customs and excise laws and regulations as well as compliance with relevant internal Diageo policies, and controls are accurately implemented for Tequila imports operations.

Oversee Customs broker operations, health checks and external customs audits, reviews and challenges from Customs Authorities.

Prepare data stage v reconciliations in a monthly basis.

Ensure we keep the proper support documentation of import operations (digital file) Guarantee proper execution of controls related to the processes inherent to the function and be point of contact for internal control audits as well as provide critical thinking on new and existing controls.


Coordinate with tax team the tax stamp (precintos) requesting process (SAT) and be responsible for sending the daily f information related to the use of strip stamps (and precintos), in accordance with the manual issued by the Tax Authority for the platform created for these purposes.

Incorporate the vital controls to ensure information integrity in a timely manner before sending to the Tax Authorities.


Support for reporting to the SAT any loss or missing strip stamp, as well as, if vital, submitting documents to the SAT for operations related to the same information.


Perform the monthly IMMEX, CIVA e IEPS and import/export processes and reconciliations to ensure the right information is provided to drive a decision focused monthly process.

Key to this is work with Finance Controlling, Import Export, Taxes and Statutory teams to ensure the correct reports. Support, if needed, Reconciliation of payment of taxes vs Treasury of the Federation.

Participate in physical inventories.

Helps to build a high-performance team leading with example.


Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages:

  • Foreign trade background
  • Knowledge of Mexican import laws, import tariff classifications.
  • Analytical skills and ability to shape analytical findings into meaningful insights for the business.
  • Ideally 23 years Supply Chain planning experience with a proven track record mainly on imports/exports, including SAT tax programs reporting.
  • Good understanding of logistics process
  • Strong networking, influencing & communication skills.

- functionally, especially with customs agents, production team leads, dispatch teams, suppliers, warehouses and treasury officials.
