Flō Networks is a leading provider of telecommunications services between the US and Mexico.

We provide connectivity and managed services to Fortune 1000 companies, telecommunications, and cable companies over a fiber optic network that spans over 13,000 miles between both countries.


The Role:


The Managed Services Engineer will drive the development and delivery of new designs, tools and services, partnering with network operations and the software team ensuring principles of reliability, scalability and performance.


The Responsibilities:


  • Support the analysis, design, engineering, and implementation of innovative security/network solutions.
  • Work on complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Manage and resolve customer fault, service outage and impairment events.
  • Multitask during events.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, customers and vendors.
  • Overseeing the performance of daytoday tasks to ensure network reliability, availability, and serviceability with mínimal interruption.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Support escalation of enterprise services such as sdwan and managed security services.
  • Collaborate with thirdparty support and service vendors to ensure that the network, security and sdwan services stays operational.
  • Research and analyze new technologies.
  • Perform technology tests and platform homologation.
  • Mentor other team members on technical issues.
  • Plan, engineer and implement robust and costeffective computing environments, exploiting emerging technologies to provide compelling solutions.
  • Write and maintain software to solve complex network management and monitoring tasks, including:
  • Deploying and auditing configuration of network devices.
  • Monitoring network health, including metrics collection, visualization, and alerting.
  • Tracking network utilization over time to assist capacity planning models.

The Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience managing network/security infrastructure.
  • 3+ years' in a Security Operations environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of network technologies (routing, switching, gateways, WAN, LAN, Wireshark, TCP/IP, OSPF, BPG, NAT, VPN, Firewalls, SSL, SSO)
  • Open Source Routing Daemons (FRR, Bird, GoBGP)
  • Previous experience working with IP/MPLS based services: MPLS L3/L2 VPN, Metro Ethernet services.
  • Network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience.
  • Deep understanding of secure network design at all levels.
  • Experience with modern Linux security practices and administration experience.
  • Experience with Anti DDoS solutions (FlowSpec, etc).
  • Firewall rule configuration and management (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc).
  • Experience with security solutions, including IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR, vulnerability management.
  • Experience keeping device firmware/software upgraded and patched.
  • Experience with automation tools like Salt, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet etc.
  • Network Coding Experience (Python, Jinja, etc)
  • Ability to automate common/frequent tasks
  • Automation focused skills with demonstrated scripting ability.
  • Automation oriented.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience with cloud networking on platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with sdwan solutions to design and support.
  • Experience with modern observability platforms (Prometheus/PromQL, NetXMS, Grafana, etc).
  • Strong relationship skills, demonstrated leadership and ability to take the initiative and make decisions independently.
