JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the activities of coordinating material handlers as well as associates related to material operations by carrying out the functions and responsibilities related to the process of receiving, storage, material allocation and material control, helping to meet the efficiency goals in the production lines, following the quality system, Health, Safety and Environment ( EHS) requirements, ensuring efficient use of human and material resources.


If CSS position:

This position will have responsibilities across the ETHICON and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions (CSS) Family of Companies of Johnson and Johnson) including a range of multiple product platforms such as General Surgical Devices, Sutures, ENT, Infection Prevention, Electrophysiology and Surgical and NonSurgical Aesthetics.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under limited supervision and in accordance with all federal, state and local laws/regulations and Johnson & Johnson Corporate procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Creates and certifies the personnel in charge in the different procedures concerning the area.
  • Ensures that the operation sheets are up to date.
  • Provides direction and assistance to employees. Able to lead them through technical and interpersonal situations.
  • Maintains credibility of material allocation and return records and educates employees when discrepancies occur.
  • Control incoming and outgoing materials such as platinum and gold to prevent losses.
  • Control of safe deposit boxes with precious metals
  • Control of scrap or material to be recycled, keep track of what is received and sent for recycling.
  • Actively participates in continuous process improvement programs.
  • Offers suggestions for improvement to peers and management.
  • Complies with Quality, QSR, ISO 9000, Environmental and Safety requirements of the company.
  • Responsible for knowing, implementing and complying with company safety requirements, as well as corporate environmental control rules.
  • Excellent knowledge in computer systems (JDE). Able to analyze information, as well as teach others how to handle and read information in the systems.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean and orderly.
  • Must have full knowledge of material flow.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in dealing with internal customer needs
  • Must establish and manage priorities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the area through existing shifts.
  • Responsible for coordinating the control of materials in warehouses located within production areas, supporting material allocations and proper traceability of allocations and transactions performed.
  • Responsible for the control and custody of precious material such as Platinum and Gold.
  • Researches, implements and documents corrective and preventive actions to improve the performance of material transactions to meet Quality System requirements such as NCR, CAPA, audit observations and others.
  • Drives operational cost reductions, decreases cyclic count differences year over year, collaborates to improve MUV in business units
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next level of management
  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to HSE practices and that all resources necessary to do so are available and in good condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned as required.

Qualifications:


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent preferred; equivalent experience in the role is acceptable.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in material
