Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
5 years of experience managing a technical team.
Experience planning or organizing business operations.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in a technical field.
Experience initiating and executing strategic initiatives in a global environment.
Understanding of technical concepts of a computing infrastructure.
Understanding of HVAC and power requirements for highavailability data centers.
Understanding of networks and PC hardware architecture including maintenance and repair.

About the job:
Google ain't just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is in charge of monitoring the latest physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search tech. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you're gonna lead a crew of Data Center Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components and handle complicated installations/troubleshooting.

Your squad will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (such as servers and their components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster).

They will also tackle the configuration of more complex components like networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols.

They might head small project teams on larger installations and devise project contingency plans.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture crafted by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep everything up and running.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to constructing the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product lineup feasible.

Responsibilities:

Take the lead on managing and executing multiple projects for your crew.
Ensure data center priorities align with company goals and collaborate with others to define and execute shortterm and longterm strategies for the location.
Supervise the computing hardware and networking operations of a data center location.
Recruit, guide, and cultivate a team of technical personnel to achieve goals.
Detect issues and devise solutions for computing and network architecture.
