STAFF EQUIPMENT ENGINEER to be in Ciudad Juarez, Mx.


Purpose:


The Equipment Engineer is a technical expert on different kinds of equipment and technology, capable of providing support and/or troubleshooting skills to solve problems to the different business unit equipment.

Must be able as needed to direct and lead different projects related to equipment.


You will be responsible for:

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Executes specific automation-related capital projects from design through construction, equipment concept validation and approval.
  • Perform characterization, qualification and equipment validation activities as needed to bring new automation systems into production.
  • Evaluates and implements new automation technologies into manufacturing operations; designs, selects, and installs hardware and software upgrades.
  • Troubleshoots and tests new equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify areas of oncoming trouble or opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains and administers manufacturing equipment control systems in support of daily process operations.
  • Execute machine and process improvements on automation systems postrelease to support operational objectives in the areas of yield, uptime, reliability, etc.
  • Write and review documentation (procedures, special instructions, qualification plans and reports, corrective action plans, etc.)
  • Ensure safe working conditions and practices in the department as well as providing support on the plant safety requirements.
  • Project implementation team member and Manufacturing support on the different systems that are directly interconnected to the equipment.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level, For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications:


External Qualifications:


  • B.S Engineering Degree or Science Discipline
  • An advanced degree, such as an MS or an MBA is preferred.
  • Project Management and strong crossfunctional business experience.
  • 6 to 8 years' experience in the implementation and support of highly automated manufacturing systems
  • See Table A for years of experience required
  • Strong proven experience on software troubleshooting for PLCs, HMIs, Vision Systems and Robots, such as (but not limited to) Siemens, Allen Bradley, Cognex, Adept, etc.
  • Strong experience on troubleshooting Personal Computers (PCs) and the different devices (drivers, controllers)
  • Experience on programming under different architectures and different levels (low and/or high level).
  • Experience on controlling equipment's software in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline. (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • Basic Knowledge on the different layers from the OSI model.
  • Experience on Machine vision systems programming (Cognex preferred)
  • Experience with OPC servers and/or WinCC (Kepware/Omniserver,etc.)
  • Experience with different system interconnections (TCP/IP, RS232, MPI, Profibus, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills.
  • Experience on Good Documentation Practices.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (Spanish & English).
