  • JOB SUMMARY:
Financial leader for the Mexico business with solid line reporting to the Regional Controller Latam.

This position will provide the Mexico subsidiary leaders strategic and daily guidance on the business, finance needs, strategy and plan.

They will work under the direction of the Director, Finance Int'l for strategic and daily guidance on Polaris global finance strategy, plans, budgets and controls.

Responsibilities include Financial Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Internal Controls, Operations, Logistics, Compliance, Treasury, Tax and Risk Management.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Lead the budget, forecast, longrange plan, and financial outlook consolidation for the Mexico business, including monthly operating review needs.
  • Oversee Polaris Mexico monthend close processes and adhere to Corporate calendar and deadlines, including account reconciliations, checklists, rollforwards, and cashflow.
  • Provide support and ad hoc analyses associated with the Mexico business and its integration with the overall International and Company Financials.
  • Drive timely delivery and accurate financial reporting of the Mexico business results, including P&L reporting by Global Business Unit versus budget, forecast and prior year, to be used by regional, International and Corporate leadership
  • Assist the Mexico leadership team on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit, NPV/IRR calculations, payback analysis and forecasting needs
  • Participate in developing new business, analyzing the profit effectiveness of prospective opportunities
  • Partner with Global Business Units on SIOP, pricing, and marketing to drive financial planning and results
  • Advise senior management and Polaris Corporate on Mexico financial affairs, signaling risks or concerns
  • Participate in Mexico's regional long range strategic planning, in alignment with the proposed strategy
  • Conduct Transfer Price Study and Statutory Audit.
Controls

  • Ensure execution and compliance of Corporate policies and controls: developing and maintaining processes and reporting, working with other country controllers and subsidiary staff to communicate, implement and monitor.
  • Coordinate documentation and review of Mexico internal controls for Corporate requirements
  • Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring audit issues are resolved and in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Maintain system of controls to safeguard financial assets and meet organizational, legal, FCPA, fiscal and internal control requirements
  • Oversee the maintenance and accounting of all fixed assets
  • Oversee and lead the payroll system, vendor and activity across the Mexico subsidiary.
Operations

  • Oversee balance sheet and cash flow management to maximize working capital for Mexico
  • Partner with Corporate and local advisors to optimize banking, legal, insurance and tax standing
  • Work with US Polaris Treasury team to provide cash availability forecasts, ensuring adequate cash flows to meet the organization's needs
  • Ensure income tax compliance
  • Implement transfer pricing in conjunction with Corporate Tax, Compliance and International Finance
  • Oversee business insurance needs and plans, such as property, liability and healthcare
  • Responsible for analysis of Mexico promotional and flooring programs: actuals, accruals and offerings
  • Manage operational footprint and look for opportunities to optimize overall logistics expense for Mexico
  • Monitor Mexico inventory levels to support alignment with overall international goals, ensuring adequate levels to meet customer demand without accumulating excess stock
  • Active in supporting all International Finance initiatives, including strategic projects such as Hive (Microsoft D365) and Hyperlocal (shared services)
  • Support modernizing the subsidiary team's work environment and processes through leveraging a suite of collaboration, productivity, automation and data tools
  • Recruit, retain, develop, and lead the Mexico finance and operations team

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field at an accredited college or university required
  • 8+ years experience in finance/accounting
  • Minimum 3 years senior level Accounting, Finance or Controller experience in a multinational organization required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Mexico GAAP, and US accounting and business rules
  • Thorough technical skills in accounting, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, treasury and tax in a corporate se
