**Production Manager

  • Honeycomb Manufacturing**We are looking for a **Production Manager
  • Honeycomb Manufacturing
    for our Queretaro** facility. In this role you will lead a production for manufacturing Honeycombs for the aerospace industry, you will manage and train your team through all necessary processes
- bending, point welding, manual work like deburring, cutting and operating EDM CNC Machines.


This is a vital role within Oerlikon Balzers Mexico through driving change and delivering continuous improvement, while manufacturing customer orders to specification and targets.

You will lead a team that manufactures bespoke aerospace components through a variety of processes including handmade manufacture, automation, and CNC methods.

You will be relied upon to use initiative and sound engineering and/or manufacturing judgement to ensure and assure continued compliance to requirements.


You will be part of the management team and support, contribute and deliver to financial targets and business growth and your strategic approach will help to deliver this.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Leading and managing a team (discipline, time management, absenteeism, coaching, training, mental health, etc.)
  • Develop, execute, and monitor production plans
  • Ensure accurate capacity planning and recovery plans are in place and effective
  • Work package management including budgets, labour hours, O/T
  • Drive production activities in line with our work to list and schedule to maintain delivery milestones
  • Adapt and overcome issues and bottlenecks to maintain project requirements
  • Resource management in terms of manpower and facilities
  • Multifunctional team organisation to ensure all support functions are aligned with our production needs
  • Chair internal reviews with functions outside of our core department to ensure delivery of services and parts driven by the demand from project and schedule requirements
  • As part of site management team, achieve the operational objectives of business and where necessary support group initiatives
  • Manage resolution of internal manufacturing incidents
  • Implement robust containment and prevention activities
  • Ensure on time delivery of 8D reports/NCRs to quality
  • Support Internal Audits (Systems, Process, Product)
  • Provide regular reports as required for own function
  • Ensure compliance to EHS requirements, regular H&S audits and 5/6S reviews
  • Ensure tools and equipment are serviceable and in calibration
  • Manage the maintenance team and planned/unplanned repairs
  • Support and engage team members to achieve zero defect and zero accidents
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log Health & Safety incidents that occur
  • Actively support and contribute to continuous improvement program and lean manufacturing and optimise production layout to ensure single piece flow production
  • Continually review working practices to remove and reduce waste and nonvalueadded activities
  • Train and support team members as required to deliver operational requirements
  • Develop and grow role and responsibility to support business needs with additional tasks as directed
  • Interact with Customers to maintain effective working relationships
  • Daily Management of all Center Production Activities including Management/Implementation of Corporate and BTS Directives/initiatives, Administration and Adherence to Quality and Safety systems at Center Level, Van Service logistic planning and adaptation in order to always fit customer needs
  • Responsible for partnering with sales team to drive business development and promote improvements
  • Controls costs related to doing business relative to his/her production location
  • Works to develop and maintain a team atmosphere

  • OOE, continuous improvement and Best Practice management

Your Profile:

Engineering / Manufacturing experience from a highly regulated industry
:Aerospace (preferable), Automotive, Marine, Defense

Certified Toolmaker for interpreting drawings and technical data to manufacture and assemble jigs, fixtures, molding tools, dies and punches. Care, attention to detail and high precision are the hallmark of toolmaking machinist who makes precision tools for use in manufacturing
