JOB PURPOSE:
To provide, through incumbent and staff, single-source contact for each manufacturing group regarding technical planning functions.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Bilingual Spanish/ English (Spoken / written; with technical vocabulary)
  • Previous supervisory experience or Experience leading project with multiples participants with tooling design and fabrication experience.
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of the planning system, manufacturing operations, methods and tooling required, including lifting devices applicable for the operation,
  • Requires a high degree of experience and expertise on lifting devices, fixtures, templates, transportation carts in various or specific fields such as welding, Machining, Assembly C&F. Fabrication, testing, painting, storing and moving of parts and products.
  • Requires to have a good understanding of product design to combine with process design and tooling design to provide for improved manufacturability of parts with safety controls.
  • Experience on capital introduction Leading projects
  • Analytical ability as well as communication skills is essential
  • Experience on Design Programs, Auto Cat, Solid Work, Creo, including FEA
  • Jobholder initiates communication with others outside immediate work group to work on new ideas or to counsel others, etc.

Basic Responsibilities

  • This position is actively involved with manufacturing operation by providing tooling, processes, lifting equipment
- improving Safety, manufacturing processes, quality and/or reduce costs. Working with internal personnel and uses knowledge gained to explain to suppliers the tooling, dies, fixtures, etc., needed to improve processes.

  • Coordinates the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts
  • Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to process, tooling, equipment, etc.
  • Ensures implementation of modern technology and follows to determine effectiveness of equipment and systems (lifting devices rollovers fabrication fixtures, transportation carts)
  • Coordinates capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction, conducting research and ensuring proper approvals
  • Investigates shop complaints (attend to Stoptofix) and determines corrections required. Coordinates resolution with areas concerned.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Requires a degree in manufacturing or engineering and experience in planning or manufacturing; strong analysis skills; variety of skills in use of computers and experience using technical software including spreadsheets and word processing; factory experience; good communication skills.

Availability to work multiples shift
