The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 primary locations; Monterrey, Kladno and Singapore and other satellite offices.

The purpose of the BSO is to create an effective and efficient platform for growth and to support The LEGO Group strategy.


The General Ledger (GL) department interacts with great parts of the LEGO organization and therefore holds an important role within the Business Service Operations (BSO) supporting the Americas region.


The departmental focus is to:


  • Make sure we live our partner promise by ensuring high quality, stewardship and full compliance with The LEGO Group current Accounting Policy and processes
  • Ensure timely, accurate and reliable transactional data recorded in general ledger and timely reconciliation of all accounts
  • Support internal and external collaborators with insightful and valueadding financial analyses, recurring statements and reporting bringing value to the overall business


The GL department supports The LEGO Group with consistent, high quality and customer oriented execution of GL processes and team member management, and enables the BSO to succeed in delivering great value to the LEGO organization.

The Sr. Accountant plays an important role in developing the best in class GL department within the BSO.

  • Deliver a commitment, customer
- and service oriented culture, understanding and anticipating to collaborators' needs.

  • Constantly strive to optimize and standardize processes and work procedures using the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas.
  • Support and participate in the LEGO tactical implementation plan to reach the goals of the department.
  • Followup requisitions from partners
  • Clearing of prepayments, revaluation, maquila transfer price and accounting for LEGO Foundation Mexico.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (local GAAPS and IFRS).
  • Handle more advanced execution of GL processes in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, including:
  • Monthly and Yearly closing activities.
  • Performance of the key controls, identification of the control weaknesses, suggestions for improvements
  • Booking economic transactions and operations.
  • Reconciliations (accounts, intercompany, bank, etc.) and translating business transactions into journal entries in accordance with IFRS to ensure all accounts are properly stated in Legal books.
  • Provide data, analysis and advice vital to support financial business partners / business in decision making process.
  • Provide information to external auditors and Tax team.
  • Participate in the LEGO tactical implementation plan to reach the goals of GL.

Requirements:


  • 35 years experience in consumer packaged goods, plus 2 year of digital content marketing.
  • Other consideration to include: Travel, Work Authorizations/Sponsorships, and or specific niche functional or proven experience required.
  • Approx. 35 years of proven working experience from finance function, preferably Accounting
- +2 years of relevant experience gained in a similar role

  • Experience with an enterprise wide accounting software system, preferably SAP
  • Microsoft Office at experienced level
  • Analytical, detail and highquality oriented
  • Be robust, resilient and ability to embrace changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a cando attitude and sense of urgency.
  • Some experience using continuous improvement tools
  • SAP experience at advanced level is preferred


Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key team members.
