MANUFACTURING ENGR MANAGER - CIENEGA DE FLORES:


JOB PURPOSE:


To supervise a staff responsible for developing and implementing new and improved the ring gears process and equipment, methods to improve quality and reduce costs of company product and operations.


JOB DUTIES:


This is a supervisory position responsible for supporting the manufacturing rings gears VS providing support to skiving, milling, shaper, deburring, OD grinding and differential gears process, tooling design, statical analysis, etc.


Incumbents have an assigned manufacturing rings gears VS and through staff support provide tooling, machines and equipment to complete the operation.

Coordinates the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture of quality parts.

Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc.

to accommodate the changing production requirements. Coordinates release dates and availability of machines and equipment and material to maintain schedules and satisfy demand. Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to ring gears process, tooling, equipment, etc. Ensures implementation of modern technology and follows to determine effectiveness of equipment and systems.

Coordinates capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction, conducting research and ensuring proper approvals.

Keeps abreast of industry changes by attending product demonstrations and identifies ongoing improvements in processes and technologies to better serve customers.


Provides training, development, and motivation for a staff capable of completing objectives and implementing cost reduction projects and meeting requirements of the ring gears VS.


The position supervises or manages a work unit of primarily management and salaried employees where planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work of subordinates is required.

The position is responsible for expense budgets, capital forecasts and expenditures, and all personnel issues in the area including performance evaluations of subordinates.

The position often confronts complex issues and problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique and solutions can require original approaches. The incumbent may modify existing approaches or develop new solutions.

The incumbent establishes and then monitors general policies and guidelines for projects under his/her control, to ensure specific management goals are met and desired results are achieved.

The position impacts key quality goals including Continuous Improvement, Delivery Timeliness, Equipment Accuracy, Operational Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Capability, Part Quality, ISO and Class A Certification, etc.


BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:


  • Requires a university degree in an appropriate manufacturing or engineering related to manufacturing process.
  • Four to five years manufacturing gears experience.
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of the planning system, skiving, shaper, milling and grinding gears process.
  • Black Belt certification
  • Experience in various manufacturing assignments both staff and supervisor, is necessary to support the shop operations. English Conversational
