  • ZF is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist Logistics for our location in Monterrey._

Position Summary:

The Principal Supply Chain Specialist - Will primarily perform purchasing and management functions for freight for locations in North America.

The position will also serve as an extended arm for global contracts supporting ocean and airfreight topics for North America.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Lead projects related to the strategies and procurement of logistics providers supporting plant operations throughout North America with focus on the US and Canada
  • Develop and lead sourcing strategies to focus on strategic service providers and where possible reduce optimize the freight network
  • Lead the procurement and support the management of assembly line relocation and other contract logistics services as needed
  • Develop and lead regional continuous improvement programs regarding the freight network, warehousing programs and ocean and air freight services.
  • Develop and implement North America logistics Standard Operating Procedures for regional and global Logistics Service Providers.
  • Lead regional implementation of new logistics processes and providers to support North American ZF locations.
  • Lead RFQ preparation and implementation including development of regional requirements and procedures and coordination of requirements from business partners
  • Lead logistics service provider management procedures including QBR's, KPI's and performance measurement scorecards.
  • Perform regular analysis using Microsoft Suite of programs to support Supply Chain initiatives.
  • Awareness of, and adherences to ethical and quality standards and their implementation for all goods or services.
  • Assist and promote communication and successful working relationships with other functional areas within the organization and outside vendors which effect the Supply Chain function and effectiveness. Report problems to Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 7/8+ years of experience in logistics, supply chainrelated field or purchasing
  • Strong knowledge of corporate logistics and purchasing procedures/processes
  • Basic knowledge of US Customs regulations
  • Expertlevel knowledge of Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret data and supply chainrelated processes
  • Proven ability to lead project teams in a fast paced, highvolume environment
  • Proven ability to interface with crossfunctional teams and all levels of personnel and management
  • Solid organization and time/project management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills and experience:


  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics or related field
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in the Automotive industry
  • German and/or Spanish language skills
