You will be an integral part of the BekaertDeslee North America Cover Design team and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Procurement.

You will have direct contact and interaction with our customers and will design and present unique têxtile and cover ideas and uphold our reputation as the leading specialist in Design for mattress têxtiles and covers.

Job Content
In this position, you will be providing support to Design Manager Covers

Job Content:

Designing new Knit Fabrics according to the latest market trends, within the technical constraints of any given fabric construction and to the specifications set forth by the customer.
Creating new Cover models using inhouse software tailored to our customer needs and according to the latest trends, while simultaneously not compromising manufacturability.
Combining different fabrics and cover components and building new covers tailored to the needs of the customer.
Determining sourcing needs for new projects and working with Sourcing team to order new components.
Selecting fabrics from our BekaertDeslee fabric library to be used for new projects.
Creating Cover Specifications for mattress cover sampling using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
Creating Fabric Cutting Sheets with Adobe Illustrator.
Aiding the NPI team in creating the cover samples according to the vision of the Cover Designer.
Visually inspecting cover samples before sending to customers to check if the final product meets the Design vision.
Communicating with internal teams such as Sales, NPI, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, R&D regarding ongoing cover sample projects.
Making digital presentations and mood boards with mattress cover models for our customers using the Adobe Suite.
Making inperson presentations to our customers using digital tools and physical products.
Knowing about our offerings in fabrics, technologies as well as covers and making recommendations for providing solutions to our customers based on their needs.
Staying up to date of the latest trends in interior design, knowing how the market will evolve in color direction, patterns, and technologies and being knowledgeable of consumer insights.
Using tools provided by our company such as SAP, Propel, Sharepoint to enter and extract data.

Education and skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design
Knowledge of pattern making and sewing techniques
High level of perception for color, texture and pattern
Eager, ability to learn, drive for change & improvement
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficient in Spanish and English written and verbal
Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
