What You Will Do in This Role:

This position is responsible for the processing, accounting, reporting, analysis and systems that ensure the timely calculation and payment of the payroll, by partnering with the Payroll Vendor to ensure open communication and resolution.

This position is responsible for the execution of payroll activities including the associated payment, taxes and contributions and related activities.

The position is responsible for continuous process and system improvement and managing the relationship with external payroll providers and internal customers and stakeholders.

The role also supports administrative tasks and assists with reporting to internal and external customers.

What It's Like to Work Here:

Payroll- Reviews the payroll of 1000+ employees in Mexico, mainly providing support to the Production site, including taxes, bonuses, PTU, etc.- Records payroll changes such as medical leave, special payments, discounts, etc.- Collaborates with external payroll providers, HR and Legal to ensure that payroll is executed in a timely manner- Provides information to external suppliers such as consultants, auditors- Investigates discrepancies in payroll information and/or documentation.- Ensure compliance with country, state and municipal requirements related to payroll- Provide information to internal and external auditors and government agencies- Monitor tax notifications, social security and other government requirements; record and comply with the timely payment of taxes, contributions and withholding taxes related to payroll- Capture payroll changes in Workday- Ensure compliance with internal policies, as well as compliance with legal regulations and others such as SOX- Book and reconcile the accruals of the different payroll concepts (salaries, incentives, fees, bonuses, taxes, etc.)- Reconciles balance sheet accounts pertaining to payroll- Reclassify payroll expenses to different cost centers/intercompany in accordance with accounting requirements and guidelines- Maintain and increase knowledge about payroll-related legislation and changes- Participate in projects including system upgrades, configuration changes, etc.- Validates payments to employees, bank disbursements, and issues checks when necessary- Coordinates payments to suppliers (food vouchers, pension management, ex-pats, etc.)- Supports savings fund processes (loans, withdrawals, contributions, etc.)- Review all payrolls for all Mexico Payroll cycles- Validate extraordinary movements posted by HR to ensure they are applied correctly to the payroll.- Assist with the payroll processing of other LATAM payrolls either by using Safeguard or an ICP Vendor to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.- Monthly Sales Incentive- Obtain from the finance departments the indicator for the calculation of monthly sales incentives.


Analysis and Project Management- Prepares ad hoc reports, metrics and presentations- Analyzes information and identifies opportunities for improvement- Prepare monthly reports for Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Corporate, etc.

- Leads process improvements projects and actions plans, follows up on open items, due dates and communicates status to Management- Carries out the analysis, user tests and coordinate go-live

We Are Looking For People Who:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Google apps (sheets, docs, etc.), as well as Excel
  • Experience with SAP and Workday is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in payroll processes, compensations, payroll taxes, social security, savings accounts and pension plans.
  • Partner with other areas to achieve process improvements, achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide honest and direct feedback, in a professional manner and in accordance with the values of the company.
  • Project management skills.
  • Discretion to handle confidential information
  • Oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly discuss payroll issues with employees at different levels in the organization and externally with payroll providers and government agencies.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills
