Job Summary
The
_Project Cost Accountant _will be responsible for setting up and tracking project budgets in Oracle (or the finance system of record), ensuring all customers and suppliers are loaded into Oracle to enable AP/AR functions, tracking and reporting performance to budget, and managing all workflows with the regional operations teams to support the Vertiv Modular Solutions Business.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly project budget reconciliation and reporting, showing actual cost to date and forecast cost to completion, for input into:
- Monthly P&L
- detailed analysis of monthly costs & revenues
- POR forecast detailed forecast by month of future costs
- POR presentation summarized analysis of total project costs (actual + forecast) & variances to original budget/prior month; including project margin analysis
- MBR monthly business reviews and QBR quarterly business reviews
- Project schedules and risk management
- Budget structure creation/definition in line with Oracle reporting capabilities & project requirements
- Project budget review/approval of PO requests and tracking vs monthly spend plans
- Management of customer invoicing process in line with the customer contract
- Continuous management of Oracle workflows including PO creation; Supplier invoice approval & processing receipt to payment; customer invoicing.
- Reviews with Budget & Project Managers on a weekly basis to discuss and update project budgets and delivery dates
- Monthly reporting showing progress against target reductions & actual costs to date
- Adhoc deepdive analysis of various budget area's a specific WBS area, specific type of spend e.g. transport, some/all change orders (actual & forecast), tax/VAT, import duties & tariffs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 3 years financial management experience in Oracle (preferably R12 or I-Cloud)
- 2 years' experience managing and reporting Project Budgets
- Experience working in a projects environment supplier management, internal and external deadlines, reporting.
- Ability to create repeatable finance management processes using shared services resources, including supplier set up, PO entry/receipt, AP/AR, Budget reporting.
- Experience of working with colleagues in multiple other countries and an understanding of the difficulties that brings (time zones, language, culture etc.
- Eligible to obtain passport.
- Potential travel requirements both intraregion and international
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support the global nature of the business.
