Job Description Summary:
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Accountable for the quality of own work.

Lead projects and perform identified duties related to assigned components, assemblies and processes, or systems in a multi-functional team environment.

Executes within a well-defined operations framework.

There is generally a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute, with limited guidance, the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Basic conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Build strong connections with Commodity Controlled Title Holders (CTHs, Cross functions teams to achieve the desired outcomes). Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
  • Skilled in mechanical design, stress analysis, fracture mechanics & low cycle fatigue
  • Understanding of materials, thermal performance, mission analysis, stress fields that impact low cycle fatigue
  • Fundamental competence in UG, Ansys & Hypermesh
  • Perform 3D finite elements models
  • Prepare and present technical data to customer
  • Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
  • Supports the solution of complex technical problems
  • Supports the definition of technical schedule, cost and/or program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Degree must be in an engineering, mechanical or related field)
  • Solid background on mechanics and finite element analysis methodology
  • Previous experience in a similar role or previous position
  • Strong commitment to integrity and to all GE Values
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • English proficiency

  • Mexican nationality is required for this position due to regulatory matters.
