Position Summary:

  • Plan, coordinate and verify the internal production program to ensure compliance with the production plan provided by the central planner.
  • Coordinate in conjunction with maintenance supervisor the intervention of equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance in shutdowns.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Ensure compliance with safety and process requirements in the production equipment to safeguard the integrity of personnel, infrastructure and equipment, and the product.
  • Coordinate with the central planner the internal production program for the Altamira plant to have a sequence that optimizes the operation time of all production lines.
  • Provide support in the definition of necessary adjustments to generate prime material and in compliance with product and customer requirements. Including color adjustments.
  • Visualize the available spaces on site to determine the feasibility of production to boxes and hoppers and inform the relevant departments to define appropriate strategies.
  • Verify and report total production data (prime, outofspec material, scrap, etc.) to keep track of the status of the production schedule, and current production.
  • Ensure with operations guards that all production orders are processed and administratively closed for product costing.
  • Define and monitor the rework consumption program, including the management of the arrival of rework to the plant, to keep inventories of nonspecification material to the minimum possible and increase the raw material of the plant.
  • Plan and execute cycle inventory for rework and PSA material, as well as request for pertinent adjustments, to increase accuracy in plant material handling.
  • Identify the causes of potential delays, downtime, and generation of outofspecification material to define the necessary action plan with each group and avoid recurrence.
  • Ensure that all inputs needed for manufacturing are available.
  • Be a focal point of the operations department with other internal or external departments to the site to maintain an adequate work synergy.
  • Report to the Operations Manager (or whoever covers him/her in his/her absence) any deviation or anomaly detected in the execution of activities, in the operation of equipment, or in the operation of equipment or infrastructure so that the department can define and execute the pertinent action plan.
  • Serve as a backup to a production supervisor in case of absences.
  • Planning and monitoring of material tests (MPC's).
  • Review of material recipes and preparation of documentation required for production scheduling.
  • Support for COLOR and MFR adjustments.
  • Coordinate, together with the maintenance supervisor, the work of scheduled shutdowns as well as the intervention of equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or systems engineering, chemical, industrial engineering or related career.

Work Experience

  • Production supervisor 5 to 10 years.
  • Operations (production, process, or operations) 14 years.
  • Experience in polypropylene production processes 5 to 10 years.
