Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/a Automation Engineer located in Tijuana B.C.

Reporting to the Director, Process Engineering, the job title's role involves

What a typical day looks like:

Develop automation requirements and specifications.
Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them.
Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.
Provide onsite support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification.
Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.
Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct designforautomation analysis and provide detailed recommendations.
Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
Understand the machine operating principle, Consequence of wear and tear parts and product Defects
Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance
Should be willing to learn & enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.
Should prepare whywhy analysis & drive for permanent corrective actions.
Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

BS/ MS Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years related experience in a technologybased industry, where a mix of automated and manual assembly techniques is utilized.
English/Spanish communication skills (80%)
Experience in Medical device industry (As a Plus)
Knowledge of automation systems and tools robotic, vision, material handling, ASRS, Conveyors, PLC, screws/fasteners, HMI, Pick-PlacePack, Inspection/Test (Structural and Non-Contact e.g. Laser), Application of lasers e.g. Etching/Marking, Dispense process, Machining, Mechanicals (Soft Tooling, Hard tooling, Plastics, etc.)
Excited and enthusiastic with manufacturing and assembly automation
Well organized, pay attention to details, methodical
Automation project experiences
Experience working with automation suppliers.
Proven successful track record of working in hightech and fast paced environments.
