What we've built and are building:
Apptegy works with thousands of schools and school districts across the United States. For the past 6 years, we've been working on making our technology into a breath of fresh air. School leaders, superintendents and administrators have some of the most stressful and demanding jobs in the world. They are responsible for the safety, well-being, and education of thousands of students. Every day they juggle the roles of politician, disciplinarian, visionary, and accountant.

That's why we focus on simplicity.

By making everything simple, we lower the technical barrier so that any administrator can lead with the most powerful tools available.

In short, we are enabling school leaders to brand, market, and strengthen their schools.

Amazing events and happenings occur in schools every day and our technology allows that to be shared across web, mobile, social media, and alerts with a single, simple-to-use tool.


As a Scrum Master you will:

A Scrum Master at Apptegy acts as an influencer of our entire Engineering culture and helps support activities not necessarily tied to a specific agile team.

We expect our Scrum Masters to help us mature our teams by ensuring they work well together, are constantly improving, and delivering value to our organization and customers.

Scrum Masters should know and understand the core values and principles of agile, be open to, and act as change promoters.

This role has high visibility and is very important to us.

As a Scrum Master at Apptegy you will:

  • Support and mentor multiple agile teams.
  • Help your teams stay on track and to produce deliverables in a very fast pace.
  • Encourage conversations and help your teams manage crossteam dependencies.
  • Own traction of team agreements and action items and make sure they happen.
  • Be an enabler, remove blockers, help your team avoid getting lost in translation, and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Partner with Product Managers to have defined work and clear goals for the team.
  • Partner with the QA team to encourage quality code and minimize the introduction of bugs into production.
  • Partner with your Engineering VP & Technical Leads to develop and coach teams and individuals.
  • Partner with fellow Scrum Masters to keep communications flowing and help solve the company's needs.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (Planning, Grooming, Daily Stand Up, Demo, Retrospective).

What is true of you?
An aptitude for challenge & a track record of success:

  • You have experience managing agile teams.
  • 8+ years of experience as Scrum Master or Project Manager.
  • You can document a project plan, manage scope, and provide status reports.
  • You are an advanced Jira user.
  • You have excellent communication skills.
  • You have strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
