Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Sr Molding Engineer.


What you'll do:

Expertise will include compression and thermoset molding manufacturing processes.

Areas of activity include new technology development, deployment, process development, molding materials assessment, part design assessments, organizational development, process problem solving, project management support, and supplier development.

  • Cognizant of molding operations across Electrical Sector and suppliers; leads technology roadmap for process development
  • Maintains awareness of leading processes, material technologies and trends and applicability to RWD operations
  • Establishes and provides design for manufacturing guidelines to support new product development
  • Leads value engineering, DOE, and RIE events to improve part cost, quality, and performance.
  • Maintains tooling design standards for both internal and external operations
  • Develops and supports portfolio of improvement programs across RWD molding operations including materials, machines, tooling and process controls
  • Interfaces with ESA molding suppliers to assist supply chain staff with supplier development and performance
  • Develops and maintains skills requirements for molding engineering staff across ESA
  • Develops standard work for business case development for molding and additive manufacturing programs
  • Maintains tooling assessment process for both internal and external molding locations, interfacing with the Pune Supplier Tooling Management team.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of molding experience

Skills:


  • Molding operations management experience
  • Experience in strategic and annual planning
  • Experience with project planning
  • Experience in international operations support
  • Experience with working with molding suppliers
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience with CIF, Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, and EHS implementations associated with molding operations
  • Expertise in materials, tools, machines, and approaches for different molding technologies including thermoset compression, thermoset/thermoplastic injection and transfer molding
  • Understands materials, machines, and approaches for polymer additive manufacturing processes including polymer powder bed fusion, vat photopolymerization, material extrusion, material jetting, and binder jetting
  • Financial acumen and experience with business case development
  • Working knowledge of sustainability issues associated with molding operations
  • Has led major improvement initiatives without direct reporting authority
  • Effective communicator within environments ranging from shop floor kaizen teams to operations leadership stakeholder groups
