The Temporary Operation Manager is in charge to:

  • The System Temporary Operation Manager is responsible to ensure a safe working environment from the time a subsystem is energized or when there is possible train movement in the area
  • He/she shall manage and coordinate the safety onsite for the transport system to be delivered
  • He/she shall manage the physical configuration and changes of any subsystems or system under his/her control
This position is for Train Maya project in Mexico

20 % Internal: Project Testing & Commissioning Manager, Sub-Systems Site Engineers, Project Manager, Project Technical Manager, EHS Manager.

80 % External: Driving Team Leader, Client's Testing & Commissioning Manager, Rolling Stock Site Testing Manager, Client Sub-Contractors Works Supervisors, Sub-System Responsible Construction Supervision Contractors, Works train office if existing in the organisation


Responsibilities

  • Produce the System Temporary Operation rules and procedures related to the scope of work in order to protect the staff, the workers and the public (tramway project) against railway vehicle movement and the danger of live parts and live equipment
  • Recruit, train and manage System Temporary Operation team
  • To control the works along the tracks, in depot, in stations and substations
  • To operate the traction power supply locally and remotely from the Control Center
  • To operate the Signalling manually on site, from the station operation rooms and remotely from the Control Center
  • Define the means and tools for the Temporary Operation activities
  • Ensure the protection measures put in place are applied and strictly followed, he has the full authority in regard of safety matters
  • Produce the drawings deemed necessary for the Temporary Operation and update them in a timely and accurate way according to the evolution of the construction and tests (Electrical diagram, Isolating Instruction, open track section, etc )
  • Perform frequent visits to the site in order to assess the risks resulting from the uncompleted works and the ongoing installation activities. If deemed necessary, to produce complementary rules & regulations
  • Ensure the staff involved in the Temporary Operations are duly trained on the rules and processes and have the knowledge and competences related to their duties
  • Manage the Temporary Operation on the daytoday basis.
  • Organize the collection of the available log events, fault recorder, data logger files relevant to the operations
  • Produce regular statistics relevant to Temporary Operation activities

Knowledge and Experience:

Broad railway knowledge of the subsystems / products to be installed, tested and commissioned.

Must have 8+ years of experience in the field of temporary operation.

Environment, Health & Safety on Construction site

Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for coordinating teams in different locations and communicating with clients.

English professional level.
