Purpose
You will be responsible for leading a project control group (Cost Controls and Schedulers).

You will define the tools and systems required to effectively and proactively manage, control and report on costs and schedules for mining projects.


Responsibilities:


  • You will need to be knowledgeable of cost and schedule planning metrics and tools (work breakdown structure).
  • Performance data collection (quantities installed, labour hours expended and other physical progress measures for subcontractor work)
  • Data tracking (daily cost collection and monitoring),
  • Analysis (earned value and productivity analysis)
  • Regular reporting to project management and client.
  • Identify and track changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring that estimates of cost changes and impact on schedule have visibility with the client and project management.
  • You will integrate cost and schedule data and reports using the company's management information and accounting systems to facilitate the achievement of the company's financial and performance objectives.

Degrees:

Engineering related to the position.


Experience:


  • 20+ years of relevant experience including supervisory technical experience and project/project portfolio management.
  • Relevant experience in large mining projects.

Skills

  • Must have advanced knowledge of fieldrelated systems, processes, and tools (Primavera P6, Ecosys, Excel, etc...).
  • Able to help others and solve problems.
  • May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools.
  • Will make independent decisions and set priorities related to complex situations. Must be able to manage small projects, or large projects. You will be responsible for the daytoday administration of projectrelated policies and processes to ensure that the project meets business objectives.
  • Will work with selfinitiated interaction with supervisor and selfinitiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Work will be assigned in terms of broad objectives to be achieved. Work will be reviewed to ensure compliance with procedures and for coordination with other departments in the company.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively and take a leadership role in the preparation and presentation of proposals and reports to staff and management, have the ability to persuade and influence others, as well as the ability to recognise and resolve conflict.
