    FIRECEST is ICON's Digital Engagement platform, simplifying life for the key parties involved in clinical trials and making it easier for them to carry out their responsibilities.

    The Role Reporting to the VP of FIRECREST, the Director, Business Operations is a senior member of the FIRECREST leadership team and integral to setting the business strategy and successfully delivering Firecrest content and support services for our customers.

    This is a key leadership role within the Firecrest business, responsible for overseeing all content production (including resource planning and management) revenue tracking, and customer support activities.

    Providing operational leadership with a focus on the development and maintenance of accurate operational plans including timelines and budgets.

    Responsible for management and development of direct reports, leading matrix teams comprising of Instructional designers, Graphic designers, Editorial and quality function, as well as clinical trial SMEs.

    Contributes to product strategy development, identifies and supports resolution of operational issues, and helps facilitate alignment within Firecrest as well as within the wider business.

    Oversees the implementation of new systems and processes within operations while maintaining overall targets. Provides support for audits and inspections. Has a good understanding of ICH GCP and associated regulations for electronic systems. Provides operational expertise for all functions within Firecrest.

    • As a Director, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
    • Complete ownership of operational plans and budgets associated with the clinical operations team in Firecrest.
    • Ensures products are delivered on schedule and within cost parameters and clear visibility and reporting status is provided to senior management.
    • Establish and monitor departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards in order to enhance the overall effectiveness of the clinical operations team.
    • Implement an appropriate set of metrics to measure performance of critical projects. Report on progress at Leadership meetings.
    • Put in place required operational and informational management decision support systems to establish and maintain a culture of execution and continuous improvement.
    • Assist Strategic Development and provide input to proposals as necessary.

    Team and Company Leadership:
    Build, develop and retain high performing product teams that lead positive contributions throughout the company. Lead cross functional teams related to clinical activities including graphic design, audio, product construction and deployment.

    • Work closely with team members in order to maximise potential resources and leverage necessary skills to ensure Firecrest meet contractual obligations and customer satisfaction objectives.
    • Track current clinical operations staff utilization to gauge adequate resources and request additional staff from management when necessary.
    • Ability to understand the business and work closely with the operations team to execute business processes.
    • Partner with senior management to develop and to achieve corporate and department goals and works with clinical operations staff to achieve the established corporate and department goals within the expected time frames.
    • Effectively manage risk and assess opportunities for continuous improvement. Plan and drive changes to better the performance of operations.

    Requirements:
    10 years' experience of Operations team and function leadership, ideally in a Clinical Trial setting Ability to lead multiple diverse teams comprising both clinical and creative skillsets Excellent communication skills and comfortable engaging with senior leadership both internally and with customers Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of business models MBA an advantage Benefits of Working in
