    The Head of Local Regulatory and Financial Reporting is a critical senior management level position within the Citi Mexico Controllers organization that is responsible for all reporting obligations (both regulatory and financial statement reporting) to the CNBV, Banxico and other local Mexican regulators. This role will manage the respective local reporting team and department to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to all internal and external stakeholders. This position will also play a leadership role in the development, design and execution of robust internal controls over financial reporting and development of processes and procedures for continuous enhancement of the reporting process.
    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the preparation, analysis and submission of reports to various constituencies (local regulators etc.) based on local statutory reporting requirements
    • Manage activities, including closing the books and sub-ledgers, passing appropriate required adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period
    • Oversee all areas of financial and management reporting
    • Provide assistance across entire firm or multiple business lines/areas on reporting matters
    • Manage and direct individuals within the infrastructure area through relevant direct reporting
    • Manage day-to-day high level operational execution and development of the strategic direction of the relevant infrastructure area
    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
    • Closely monitoring legal entity economic conditions and financial performance, including a comprehensive review of the legal entity's balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L), identifying, and assessing key financial and strategic issues and ensuring proper checks and controls are in place.

    Qualifications:

    • 15+ years of relevant experience
    • Experience in people management
    • Previous supervisory experience
    • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
    • Ability to work across functional areas
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Expertise in local Mexican GAAP concepts
    • Expertise and experience with required reporting processes and deliverables with local regulators
    • Ability to interact with local regulators to address audit and supervisory requests

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
    • Master's degree preferred
