Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Project Engineer Sourcing to join our team. This position is based in Cuautitlan


The Project Engineer Sourcing is responsible for successfully complete launch activities (insource, outsource, insource, NPD) in partnership with the Lead Sourcing Specialist as it pertains to the quotation reviews, feasibility, design, build, functionality, runoffs and equipment delivery.

Engage the supply base as an integral part of our business in supporting supplier excellence. Ensure flawless launch in all supplier moves and tooling changes.

Deploy standard Eaton processes.

Close communication with the internal teams (engineering, operations, etc.) as it relates to Gantt progress on projects.

The principal's objectives of the Project Engineer Sourcing are:

  • Manage, track, and facilitate all launch activities for molding and stamping and ensure they are on target and within plant requirements as it relates to equipment and tooling.
  • Assist in control plan, FEMA, process flow and operator instructions. Specify requirements for equipment, tooling and materials
  • Participate in "run at rate" programs both internally and at supplier locations, process development, and all preproduction activities including APQP, PPAP, feasibility meeting and the trial process.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods and processes based on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ensure enough resources are available including training, safety standards and shop tools relating to new equipment.
  • Develop standard forms, checklists, worksheets, etc. as required to improve overall efficiency. Communicate pertinent information regarding costing, quality, and manufacturing plans to the affected departments
  • Participate in root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation of all issues that are preventing meeting customer requirements.

Qualifications:


  • Engineering degree minimum of 3 years experience or equivalent in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of molding and stamping operations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong statistical knowledge
  • Knowledge of PPAP process, 8D's, 5 Whys, Pareto charting, Six Sigma, FMEA, APQP process Advanced problem solving and computer skills required
  • Aggressive, hands on self
- motivated person that can function independently with little supervision Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to make sound and logical judgement in choosing a particular course of action from available alternatives
