Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for understanding and implementing the customer's technical roadmap and related process development projects.
  • Lead and implement the development and release of the full manufacturing process for new customer products.
  • Understand and provide feedback on customer's technical requirements to team members and management
  • Responsible for developing and implementing costed and optimized feedback using Design for manufacturability (DFX) tools and processes, with the goal of reducing manufacturing cost and improving quality and reliability of product.
  • Devise process controls and data collection strategies and evaluate complex data to assist with reporting yield, reliability and diagnoses to root causes failures impacting product quality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication to management on critical technical and business issues.
  • Set yearly plans and goals for the department and give direction on expected performance and provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback. Accountable for all department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators.

STANDARD JOB:
Technical Skills


  • Experience supporting the manufacture of electromechanical medical devices.
  • A track record of accomplishment in developing production process requirements, specifications.
  • Experience working with design firms and contract manufacturing and operations to develop best production systems.
  • Experience identifying and developing cost saving projects (Continuous improvement, Kaizen).
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in moving medical devices through design transfer to operations, as well as increasing productivity on sustaining projects. (full manufacturing)
  • A technical background strong in manufacturing engineering, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability, process excellence methodologies, Six Sigma, Lean, supplier development and process validation.
  • Ability to coach and mentor young talent.
  • Strong knowledge on root cause analysis (CAPA), Change Control and Product Engineering.
  • Experience in design control and various country regulations, including FDA and ISO1348
  • Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills and a track record of accomplishment working with influencers and cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge on statistical techniques (DOEs, hypothesis testing, ANOVAs, Sampling Plans).
  • Ability to perform capacity assessments, man power calculation, line efficiency, as well as improvement plans to reach/exceed business KPIs.

Physical Demands:


  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience:


  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading medical device tech transfer projects, scale up from pilot to full manufacturing production

Typical Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferred disciplines would include mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering. Advance
