Job Expectations:

Develop a high performing team
Direct and lead team members to accomplish assigned tasks. Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional teams (Systems Engineering, DBA, Release-Deployment).
Hire talented engineers and provide technical guidance, career development and mentoring.
Participate in key technical and design discussions within the team as well as the broader engineering organization. Ensure deliverables align with architectural objectives and requirements and are successfully deployed into the production environment.
Participate in incident root cause analysis, oversee issue remediation and drive implementation of preventive measures.
Maintain cutting edge knowledge of industry best practices, processes, technology tools and trends.
Champion and contribute to the continuous improvements.
Provide timely communication to leaders and practitioners. Provide oversight, technical guidance, and assist peers as needed.
Define, track and measure overall department performance and metrics. Complete and distribute reports, models, status updates, statistics, etc., to technology leadership as required.
Be part of a management team that runs a 24x7 team to perform all maintenance operations globally.
Help engineer solutions aligned with Security, Uptime and Performance

Required Skills and Experience:

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years of professional experience working in a largescale production environment.
3+ years of experience managing global teams in a 24x7 environment
Strong background in managing or handson experience in any of: Linux System Administration / hardware infrastructure / Oracle DBA / Release Deployment
A passion for automation, capacity/performance management, storage concepts, high availability
Leadership experience with increasing levels of accountability.
Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work with a range of technical staff, operational partners and architects to develop joint solutions.
Ability to facilitate problem solving among groups with varying needs and priorities.
Excellent analytical skills.
Strong project management
Experience with Open source technologies
