WHAT TO EXPECT

Located in our Siloam Springs Facility, you will be developing, planning and implementing process improvement and capital projects for global power transmission facilities.

You will be managing multi-facility capital and/or standardization projects.


Key responsibilities (to name a few):

  • Preparing and presenting capital project proposals for Gates' manufacturing sites
  • Developing Statements of Work (SOW); preparing bid packages for quote, reviewing and providing the recommended sourcing decision
  • Recommending and implementing improvement and/or modifications in sequence of options, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Managing of project metrics including timing, speed forecast, and key objectivities
  • Supporting capital equipment and runoff at equipment supplies and Gates' manufacturing facilities
  • Visiting with suppliers for project updates and equipment runoffs
  • Researching and developing new processes for both new and existing products
  • Training and support of the plant engineering staff

ABOUT YOU

  • 5 years of specific engineering project management and implementation with progressive responsibility
  • Bachelor's Degree requirement, preferably in Electrical / Controls / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong experience in equipment specification, design, and integration for new and existing processes; experience with various industrial control systems and a basic understanding of machine control concepts, with strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with integrating lean manufacturing and six sigma principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent project management skills, including execution and follow up assessment, and presenting to all levels of the organization
  • Results oriented, seeks creative solutions to business problems; takes action and anticipates the needs of internal and external customers
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional and crosscultural teams. Strong team player, proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships.
  • Proficient project management and engineering related software skills including but not limited to:
  • Microsoft Office
  • Project Management Programs (Microsoft Project)
  • AutoCAD/AutoCAD Inventor
  • Capability SPC (Minitab)
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high pressure situations manages conflict and prioritizes workloads
  • Selfdirected and motivated with a willingness to travel 60 to 70% to the various Gates manufacturing facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • PLC and operator interface programming a plus
