BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the Operations Manager to define, prioritize, and implement project strategy.

Will lead teams and negotiate for resources and lead Cost-to-Win (Continuous Improvement and Lean Enterprise Initiatives) cost reduction projects to a successful and timely completion.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of all Cost-to-Win activities at the Site.
  • Responsible for working with and collaborating with other Managers and plants outside of their home base site as needed for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for working directly with other Plant Business Unit and Functional Managers to ensure that CI Budgetary and Project Goals are achieved on schedule.
  • Serving as primary Coordinator for the administration of the Site's Lean, Process Optimization, and Six Sigma Programs.
  • Partners with the site leadership team to implement the Continuous improvements in alignment with the goals and objectives of the site or function.
  • Build and maintain trust and credibility with employees at all levels demonstrating corporate values and principles.
  • Facilitates Kohler training programs, Kaizen events and other Kohler initiatives. Assesses, coaches and provides constructive feedback to teams in order to strengthen the Kohler competency.
  • Educates employees on Kohler Systems, tools and techniques helping to form a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Identifies and leverages best practices within the local site. Documents lessons learned and incorporated it into local sites as appropriate.
  • Manages Kohler systems and tools to improve business performance including the five levers of productivity.
  • Provide continuous improvement plans to align business leaders and help them understand interdependencies, connect the metrics to business processes and focus improvement plans to yield productivity improvements to achieve/beat business objectives.
  • Coordinates and synchronizes site level Kohler goals and initiatives. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved.
  • Responsible for the oversight, development, training, implementing, and sustaining of the plant's
  • Lean Culture including 20 Keys, 5S, Visual Controls, Standard Work and Kaizen systems.
  • Working with plant engineering and Corporate Engineering Managers. Plans, schedules, organizes and delegates CosttoWin project activities. Sets goals, establishes priorities and coordinates project resources in the development of concepts and approaches and then reviews progress/results and reports them to plant management.
  • Collaborates with Engineering/Manufacturing and other functional departments to generate cost savings project lists. Proactively leads multiple teams to the desired results. Prioritizes cost savings projects. Manages to savings and timeline completion.
  • Coordinates with Quality as necessary on CosttoWin (CI and Lean Enterprise Initiatives) projects to manage processes, including evaluation of and improvements to those processes. Proficiently oversees the ECO process for assigned projects.
  • Study of productivities and control of headcount
  • Lead of lay out and new projects to validation manpower utilization, ergonomic conditions and layout

Skills/Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is valid.


However, we prefer the following:
Engineering Degree/Master's Degree with emphasis in Business


Required:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in areas of Six Sigma, Lean, and consulting. MD desired. Preferred 10 years' team leadership experience and proven talent as a change leader. Strong leadership and people engagement skills; Leads by example using leadership effectiveness. Certified in Six Sigma or Lean.
