Company Description About Avery Dennison**The Business Unit Manager will be in charge of human resources, materials, tools, and equipment to fulfill production programs. The goal is to ensure the optimal condition of the lines and machines within their unit, collaborating with support departments to achieve production goals and meet indicators for absenteeism, accidents, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the staff under their charge to meet production goals.
  • Define department objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company objectives.
  • Actively participate in the improvement of the Quality/Safety and Environment Management System, based on procedures and instructions, as well as understanding and complying with the Quality/Safety and Environment Policy.
  • Establish strategies to streamline the work program based on continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate operations teams to establish action plans for problemsolving.
  • Responsible for attending meetings for decisionmaking by Operations.
  • Analyze the main contributors of SCRAP and generate PDCA.
  • Programming and compliance of preventive maintenance as well as its followup and plan.
  • Coordination and assignment of resources and corrective maintenance.
  • Follow up on answering and coordinating corrective and preventive actions within their area of responsibility.
  • Promote a culture with a focus on 5's.
  • In case of being part of any brigade and company commission, they must fulfill the assigned activities.
  • Followup on manufacturing engineers' plans. Monitor KPIs and KAIs.
  • Authority to escalate any situation that jeopardizes the fulfillment of the indicators.
  • Manufacturing Systems; Take necessary actions to comply with manufacturing standards/KOSU.
  • Ensure process capacity according to customer contracts.
  • Respond to customer complaints (internal and external).
  • Preparation, analysis, and approval of procedures and instructions for their department.

Qualifications

  • Completed engineering degree (Industrial, Mechanical, or Industrial Mechanical).
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in computer packages (e.g. MS Office
  • Google Sheets).
  • Leadership, negotiation skills, teamwork and strong communication.
  • Experience working in digital transformation projects (desired)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Able to develop and implement actions to improve the performance of SQCDM indicators (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery on time, and Morale).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in Six Sigma (minimum Green Belt).
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean principles.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and line balancing.
  • Riskbased thinking and ability to propose possible solutions.
