What's the role?


The Seller Verification team conducts seller onboarding (KYC/B), bank account verification, and enhanced due diligence processes to help Etsy meet its compliance obligations and promote better outcomes for buyers.

The team, which sits within Etsy's Seller Verification & Financial Crime Operations (SVFC) organization, conducts in-depth investigations, handles time-sensitive communications and collaborates with key partners including Legal, Compliance, Payments and support teams to help keep Etsy a safe and trusted place to shop and sell.

What does the day-to-day look like?


The Seller Verification Specialist is accountable and responsible for consistently meeting their individual productivity and quality targets with respect to the seller verification-related workflows that they execute, including KYC/KYB, bank account verification, and enhanced due diligence reviews.

In support of that, the Seller Verification Specialist will:


  • Understand and enforce Etsy's policies regarding seller identity verification, acting as an expert point of contact for complex verification issues.
  • Stay uptodate with training, maintaining indepth knowledge of Etsy's evolving policies, product offerings, and shifting risk environment.
  • Utilize Etsy's internal tools as well as vendor tools to review and validate information provided by sellers, escalating concerns or questions to the Seller Verification Manager, as appropriate.
  • Communicate efficiently and accurately with sellers about enforcement actions.
  • Uphold Seller Verification service levels and performance metrics

Qualifications:


Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in KYC/B, fraud investigation, or other ecommerce risk management experience
  • Experience conducting sophisticated investigations and analysis (CDD/EDD, PEP/SAN, etc.)
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team structure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable providing and receiving feedback as a regular practice
  • Willing to work either a Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule (one weekend shift per week)
  • A positive, rollupyoursleevesandhelp attitude
