Sr Director - Global Customs and Trade

Main Purpose


The Global Customs and Trade Director will lead and manage a Global Customs & Trade Excellence team for Snacks, Beverages, and Concentrate businesses to support the company's requirements of raw materials, samples, promotional items, finished goods, packaging material, CAPEX, spare parts, flavor hearts, finished flavors.

The leader will enable improved region agility and flexibility with the required global governance to have a shared understanding of process ownership and focused effort to build out Customs & Trade capabilities.

With the purpose of achieving such a goal, the role / team engages in daily interactions with custom brokers, freight forwarders, port authorities, suppliers, vendors, carriers, and other external entities across the globe to insure the flow of goods.

In addition, the role will interact with various PepsiCo functions such as marketing, procurement, planning, commercial, engineering, manufacturing and R&D.

As a primary representative for PEP, engages with Global governmental entities, and updates the area's general knowledge of customs laws and regulations with businesses and teams.

The role will secure a correct and effective Customs & Trade Compliance management, minimizing administrative, monetary and operative impacts and risks, which could be generated due to interactions by governmental institutions.

Accountabilities

Functional Responsibilities:
Lead an integrated global cross-functional Customs & Trade organization to deliver cost transformation, net revenue growth, service excellence, and PEP+ benefits for PEP

  • Develop the global strategy, vision, and roadmap for Customs & Trade that delivers a capable and reliable capability
  • Lead standardization, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing to unlock Customs & Trade optimization and decision making across sectors
  • Contribute to a 4% YOY productivity from Import-Export (Customs, Duties, Assessorial charges) through cost transformation delivering ~$65 MM to PEP and develop detailed plans for additional years 2026+.
  • Guarantee operational continuity for the different sectors, through insuring compliant documentation for all international shipments in order to obtain the best delivery and transportation time, guaranteeing the best costs and lowest risks.
  • Analyze all import/export operations across globe in order to identify possible C&T optimization opportunities and related compliance impacts seeking to reduce risks, compliance issues, and governmental audits.
  • Manage and support government, fiscal and FDA audits when received by providing documentation and proof of import processes in order to avoid risks and close the possible impacts.
  • Secure a correct and effective International Trade Compliance management, minimizing administrative, monetary and operative impacts and risks, which could be generated due to interactions by governmental institutions, such as: Treausy department, health and phytosanitary authorities, customs authorities
  • Lead Customs & Trade excellence and capability development to proactively act on regulatory and trade risk and opportunity areas to benefit PepsiCo's Import Export operations
  • Strategize near and longterm data and technology enablement strategy for Import-Export organization by working closely with sectors and IT functions and implement it across the global landscape

Requirements:


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or applicable degree
