GERENTE B RISK AND CONTROL

Role Purpose:


The role holder is expected to facilitate the maintenance of an effective operational risk and control environment via the execution of the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) process, provide inputs for identification of Top & Emerging risks, and ensure adherence to the Incident Management process to enable timely Reporting.

The role holder would be required to provide co-ordination and expertise to the WPB business teams on all aspects of operational risks including audits and work closely with Risk & Control teams across DBS and other Global Businesses and Functions mainly focused on Financial Crime and Resilience Risks.


Principal accountabilities:

  • Ensure that WPB region and country has a robust and compliant Business Risk Control Management capability within 'First Line of Defence' aligned to the Global model.
  • Implement and maintain effective Risk & Control framework throughout the region, which adds value to the WPB business.
  • Support WPB teams in adherence to both internal and external directives from 'Second Line of Defence' including but not limited to Compliance, Operational Risk, Information Security Risk, Business Continuity functions.
  • Assess and report on the adequacy of operational risk and control environment.
  • Ensure that the country WPB team implements compliance policies and procedures in respect of WPB business, including Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime and Resilience Risks programs as well as regulatory projects (including NFRO, Global Standards, etc).
  • Develop key relationships with regional and country WPB teams including across functional areas ensuring a clear understanding of material Operational risk and control issues.
  • Support WPB Senior Management on compliance and operational risk matters.
  • Assist in internal, external and regulatory audits.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles
  • Good understanding of the Group's Operational Risk Framework
  • Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment especially in the financial services sector
  • Leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment
  • Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst adhering to timelines and quality of output.
The following skills are required to successfully execute the BIRO responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with the Resilience Risk sections of the Global Risk Policy, Resilence Risk
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven project and risk management capabilities with a focus on resolving complex problems
  • Effective team and matrix management skills in multicultural environments
  • Working knowledge of applicable security/risk concepts and methodologies
  • Organised and autonomous

Desired:


  • A sound knowledge of the Group and the WPB business, including products, services, systems & processes.
  • Business experience in a variety of roles (Corporate / Commercial Banking) centered on delivery of high quality customer service.
Exposure to an operations and a control environment, such as audit or compliance
