Job Description

Designs, defines and implements complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.

Provides customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.

Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

Complexity

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Experience

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Supervision

Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, generally instructions on new assignments.

Scope

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines the process by which to meet goals.

A experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves wide range of issues in creative ways and effective ways.

Interaction

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Functional
  • Analyzes customer's requirements to determine the optimal process control/safety system solution and determines applicable control configuration/architecture.
  • Performs conceptual process control systems design, determination of process control/safety system strategy.
  • Supports Project Engineer with the analysis of customer's requirements to determine the optimal process control/safety system solution and applicable control / safety system component selection.
  • Updates project engineer regarding status of activities, performance according to schedule and budget
  • Provides onsite commissioning and startup as required.
  • Leadership
  • Participate with plan, schedule for projects including setting and managing timescales and budgets.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to communicate project status as required and contribute to project review meetings.
  • Visit internal/external panel manufacturing facilities to assess progress, provide technical assistance and for final inspection and sign off.
  • Coordinates work package execution with remote or thirdparty resources, reviews quality of work and ensures compliance to customers' requirements.

  • Participate in the overall technical design and implementation, test and startup phases of the systems and/or solutions in scope of the project(s).
  • All solutions are to be designed and implemented in complete alignment with Sensia standards, design rules and guidelines, and in compliance with applicable international codes/standards. Assures personnel/machinery safety practices are fully implemented.
  • Analyzes customer's requirements to determine applicable architecture.
  • Performs conceptual review with input data to determine deviations or confirm proposed solution.
  • Ensure that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule and budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produces functional and detailed design specifications.
  • Develop required documents per customer standards (system architecture).
  • Design and implement technical project scope against the project plan and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications.
  • Implement load of commercial and Sensia software, programming operator stations, different servers, such as dominion, clientserver.
  • Inspect equipment at the factory to ensure compliance with specifications and procurement documentation.
  • Execute Factory acceptance testing for customers.
  • Pre‐commissioning, Commissioning and start‐up support to operations.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and assist Project Manager to propose these to the customer.
  • Assist Project Manager with technical issues.
  • Identify and analyze design changes and modify documents accordingly.
  • Ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
  • Attends, participates in the preparation and presentation of technical papers in industry sympo
