Our client, a US-based company relying on user-generated content, that prides itself in providing a unique experience for online visitors and employees, is currently in need of a
Full Stack Engineer with
Java and
JavaScript know-how.


The largest user-generated travel platform in the world, the company needs help in building a suite of B2B products that serves restaurant owners and hoteliers alike, enabling them to market their businesses online.

As a self-starting and results-driven Engineer, you will partner with technology leaders and product managers throughout the company to design and build highly performant solutions


In this role, you will become part of the back-office operations and platform team, and play a key role in designing and building the next generation suite of software used across the client's platform, for both internal and external customers.

Along with the other members of this team, you will be responsible for building a cloud first platform for a variety of services such as internal tool UIs, backend APIs, and offline job orchestration.


These systems ultimately:
- enhance the functionalities provided by the teams, empowering developers, and
- enable the company's world class customer service and relations, improving customer experience, and driving overall retention.


As an engineer on the team, you will have a direct impact on the future of its tech stack, requirements, development, and deployment.

Through your work, you will grow expertise in one or more technologies and share your learnings with your team.
The team develops with JavaScript/React/GraphQL, Java, Tomcat, Linux, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake, and AWS technologies.


Job requirements:


  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent;
  • Ability to design and query relational databases;
  • Willingness and ability to take on new technologies;
  • Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions;
  • Strong analytical skills and a desire to write clean, correct, and efficient code;
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sense of ownership, urgency and pride in your work.
  • Ability to work with Agile methodologies (adapted SCRUM);
  • Previous experience with working efficiently with a remote development team;
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong English language skills.

Responsibilities:


In this role, you will:
- be responsible for testing the software you write and will maintain your features once released.
- actively provide code reviews to your peers, ensuring that team standards and best practices are adhered to.
- similarly, seek feedback from your peers and promote a collaborative and fast-paced engineering culture.
- code; most of the engineers release code to production every few days and there is a daily release cycle.
- take responsibility for the quality of the code you produce.
- operate across the project's evolving technology stack ( developing in AWS, Java, React, Typescript, SQL, and more.
- take responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA and maintenance.
- work closely with more senior engineers who will help define projects and rely on you to deliver key components of them.
- touch code at every level - from the UI, through backend microservices and down to the database.
- collaborate closely with Product and design teams to define feature specifications and develop high-quality deliverables for our customers.
- work alongside other engineering groups located around the world.
