About the Opportunity:

Ellucian is seeking an innovative, collaborative, hands on Product Manager to be the voice of the customer, provide focus and day-to-day oversight to the teams working on regulatory needs and market requirements for state systems and federal needs in the United States.

In this role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for turning customer insight into simple, elegant product solutions, and championing those solutions with our customers and our Ellucian stakeholders.


You must be able to work with a wide range of roles: Business Analysts, Sales, Support Analysts, Developers, and other Product Managers to support agile development and ensure successful customer delivery, feature adoption, and satisfaction.

We're looking for a responsible, analytical, self-starter willing to drive change, has strong attention to detail, and clearly communicates complex concepts to technical and functional audiences.

Where you will make an impact

  • Our product strategy and go to market
  • Own the product backlog and roadmap
  • Write product themes/initiatives complete with value oriented OKR's
  • Write epics and stories to support completion of initiatives
  • Collaborate with customers for product validation and to understand/solve challenges
  • Prioritize development activities to continuously deliver value to customers
  • Work collaboratively with R&D and UX to build roadmaps and plan releases
  • Evangelize for the product through inperson and virtual presentations and engagements
  • Work with other Product Managers to align solution and portfolio strategies to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support the sales process with product expertise
  • Assist with organizing and leading customer beta groups, responding to internal and external questions, monitor customer communities, and think quickly to synthesize incoming information into a cohesive response

What you will bring

  • At least three years' experience working in higher education industry (at institution, consulting w/in HE industry, or with federal / state / local regulatory body)
  • Experience researching ideas and turning them into compelling business cases
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, balance and prioritize ones time and work independently
  • Outcomefocused, with customer value always in mind
  • Ability to simplify complex challenges and technologies into simpler outcomes and stories to drive shared understandings
  • Able to confidently demonstrate products, and influence senior management, and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Experience communicating product vision and decisions across geographically distributed technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Processoriented decisionmaker who relies on data
  • Relentless critical thinker with a passion for learning
  • Extra credit
  • 3+ years experience in Product Management
  • Experience delivering SaaS products, preferably in an enterprise B2B environment
  • Experience running or critically supporting a product P&L
  • Experience with the JTBD framework
  • Experience with integrations methods and technologies, mainly realtime
