About the Role:

In Trimble Agriculture, Bilberry is an innovative Agtech, whose ambition is to reduce the quantity of herbicide used worldwide by 80%.

Our products, protected by more than 30 patents, use the most advanced image processing AI technology in collaboration with embedded systems to help achieve our mission of a more sustainable agriculture.

In order to reduce the amount of herbicides used, our camera network, directly embedded on the boom of the sprayers, continuously scans the paddock, identifies the weeds within the crops in real time, and controls the spraying automatically.

By using our technology, we spray only where it's needed, when it's needed.

In this role you will:

Review annotations of weeds among row crops by annotators using Bilberry's annotation tool for accuracy of annotations. Find if crops have been incorrectly labeled as weeds, and if weeds are missed from being annotated.

Provide feedback to annotators if there are issues with annotations and send back the annotation batch to be re-annotated.

Identify why incorrect annotations happened and identify proposed solutions to reduce the inaccuracies in the future.

Identify how the annotation tool could be updated to decrease annotation human errors and communicate them to the annotation manager.

Identify annotation guidelines that could decrease errors in the annotation. And to improve annotation throughput.

Produce Ground Truth Data annotations that will be used for quality control of bulk of annotations.

Mentor or train annotators (usually Ag background freelancers) to recognize between specific crops and weeds

Plan, organize and annotation assignments together with the annotation manager.

Document with clarity where required in English.

Responsible for annotation reviews in the required deadlines.

Coordinate with the team for timely delivery of work products.

Ensure the quality of work products of annotators.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the management from time to time

This is an emerging role in the AI industry. We are looking to hire Agriculture graduates with solid knowledge on plants and not really engineers.**
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

You enjoy taking on new challenges and have excellent crop recognition and analysis skills.

You are both autonomous and able to work in a team. You are willing to share your knowledge with others and to always improve your skills.

You own a bachelor's, master's or degree in agriculture or botany.
-
You have extreme familiarity and recognition of row crops like corn / sorghum, soybean, cereal, canola, cotton, lentil / chickpea, sunflower, lupin, etc in images and in the real world.

You have learn-ability to use Bilberry's annotation web tool to review annotations.

You have high observation skills to identify crops and weeds in images.

When annotations are incorrect, you have the ability to try and understand why the annotation could have been incorrectly done by the annotators, and provide suggestions and plans to improve annotation quality.

You have the ability to work with the annotation manager to continuously improve the annotation quality and throughput.

Good analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

Fluent in English
