ROLE SUMMARY:


  • With more than 1,800 students, The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM), an Inspired school, currently has 3 campuses in Monterrey's metropolitan area: 2 campuses in San Pedro and 1 campus in Santa Catarina.
  • Valle Oriente Campus provides full services from Prenursery through 9th grade.
  • San Pedro Campus provides services from Prenursery through 5th grade.
  • AIM Preparatory School offers 6th through 12th grades.
  • The AIM has become a successful institution by aiming for excellence permanently since its foundation in 1968. For more than 50 years, AIM has been one of the most renowned privatebilingual schools in Mexico, assuring a quality prenursery through 9th grade education in an international context, while on 2017 the High School program (10th. through 12th. grades) was launched. The AIM is globally recognized for its high academic standing, its educational innovations, its updated technological resources, its values and leadership programs, as well as for the high performance of our students in sports.
  • Our spiral and transdisciplinary curriculum, coupled with a healthy degree of student choice and accountability, pursues that our students develop and attain mastery of the 21st century skills through the development of Authentic Products and Services that have a positive impact in their community. This Authentic Products and Services are developed during students' specialized Academy classes in Engineering and Technology, Laboratory and Research, Business and Management as well as Arts and Humanities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee significant accounting activities: monthend, quarterend and yearend close, general ledger; including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Establish and maintain controls to safeguard company assets
  • Oversee the preparation of timely monthly financial statements and reports
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and yearend close processes with utmost attention to accuracy, reliability and efficiency.
  • Responsible for cash and treasury management
  • Lead the preparation of documents for annual financial statement audits, quarterly review activities and internal control audits.
  • Develop and coach existing team members and hire talent as needed
  • Support various other accounting processes: external reporting function, FP&A/budgeting
  • Lead the optimization of existing systems and software
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


  • Accounting degree required
  • CPA required
  • 810 years of corporate accounting experience in a professional services, consulting or financial services firm.
  • Significant management experience required
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills, including vLookUps, Pivot Tables
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and fastmoving organization
  • Advanced understanding of internal control concepts
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment
  • Businessminded and organized.
  • ERP JDE Edwards or similar.
