Position Overview
The Purchasing Specialist/ Manager is responsible for developing sourcing strategies for Electronics/ Contract Manufacturing.

Provide leadership, strategic thinking and expertise for electronics and contract manufacturing categories to advance Baxter Global Business Units (GBUs) mission agenda "Sustain and Save Lives".

Main Responsabilities:

1. Responsible for supplier relationship management and risk assessment.
2.Develop and Implement appropriate risk mitigation plans.

3. Responsible for negotiations and contracting.

4. Develop robust category strategies that reduce supply base, reduce dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers, deliver continuity of supply, and provide for annual cost reductions.

5. Deliver annual VIP (cost reductions) and PPV objectives at category and plant levels. Jointly, with supplier quality, address supplier quality issues timely.

6. Purchasing Manager will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Baxter's global position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.

7. Partnering closely with Baxters's R&D organization, this individual will work to mitigate risk and continuously work to develop and improve supplier systems and processes.

8.In addition, this individual will be responsible for leveraging technology and purchasing power to reduce the overall cost of ownership and acquisition through strategic negotiation and optimization of supplier agreements.

9. Purchasing Manager will have overall responsibility for leading a cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity team in the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities, in support of business objectives for cycle/response time, quality assurance, technology/new product development, risk mitigation, and total cost.

10. This individual will own strategies that extend through the full supply chain including primary and sub-tier suppliers

11.Effectively manages long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; MBA desirable. CPM preferred.
Minimum 3-7 years of relevant experience in Procurement.
Strong decision maker surrounding multi-million dollar contracts and agreements and major policies.
Risk management skill set required to drive innovative solutions and problem solving analysis and resolution.
Seasoned negotiator with knowledge of cost tools such as material breakdown, benchmarking, value analysis, value engineering, complex RFQ's and innovative purchasing tools.
Strong project management skills to drive projects to closure.

High level technical aptitude. Engineering, Electronic or other Technical training preferred.

Ability to think strategically and globally.
Ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests and expectations.
