Responsibilities:


  • Increase reliability as it pertains to development and deployment by implementing a proper CI/CD pipeline for deploying code.
  • Create and maintain a proper staging environment that can reliably emulate how changes should work in production and implement cross team code review sessions.
  • Ensure that all infrastructure is managed as IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform and Ansible for managing cloud resources.
  • Implement proper segmentation of staging and production environments.
  • Leverage Cloud Native tooling such as:
  • Containerization
  • Container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Single pane monitoring solutions (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
  • CI/CD tools (Argo CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain a proper release cycle that includes transparency and a clear rollback strategy that includes hot fixes, feature changes, etc.
  • Reduce operating costs through evaluating redundant or outdated infrastructure.
  • Promote reliability and resilience practices throughout the organization.
  • Be part of an oncall rotation to support production systems.

Qualifications for Success:


  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more highlevel languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript.
  • Indepth experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Indepth knowledge of containerization technology and orchestration, such as Docker and/or Kubernetes, as well as experience with CNCF technologies like Prometheus, Helm, or gRPC.
  • Indepth knowledge on Linux, Networking and Storage.
