Primary Purpose:

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain efficient, rusable, and reliable Ruby and Javascript code
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Work with other team members and team lead to estimate effort on development tasks
Analyze business requirements to develop technical requirements.
Work with testers to resolve defects found during QA testing.
Analyze defect reports and develop solutions to address the reported defect.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Participate on project teams to build effective solutions based on project requirements
Manage shared code using standard source code repository tools
Develop custom software solutions that fulfill acceptance criteria, test solution, and work with the rest of the team to deploy to a production environment.
Write or update documentation to support developed solutions including internal documentation, release notes, and deployment instructions.
Resolve assigned Incidents and respond within prescribed SLA.
Provide 2nd tier support to Service Desk as a Subject Matter Expert.
Participate in code reviews to ensure developed solutions are well architected and follow development and security standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Ruby on Rails 4.1.8+:

js, or comporable modern JavaScript Front End Library:

Code management using git:

Objectoriented programming
Basic understanding of frontend technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, ORM, and RESTful
A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
Expericene working with Linux based web servers
API Development & Integrations
Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
Familiarity with continuous integration
Previous experience in manufacturing environment, supporting Integrated ERP systems for a distributed organization highly desirable.

Other considerations:

BS degree in Computer Science / Engineering, MIS, CIS, or equivalent job experience
2+ years of SQL/database experience preferably with some Progress DB.
25 years developing custom solutions using Ruby on Rails
Serverside CSS preprocessors Sass, Haml
Interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills
