THE COMPANY

Our client is a supplier of fabricated metal components and welded assemblies with a successful history of over 130 years since its foundation.

They provide highly integrated, comprehensive manufacturing solutions to customers who build equipment and manage projects - ranging from locomotives to forklifts and bulldozers to power generation equipment.

They are a contract metal fabrication company with offerings that include steel fabrication, tube processing, plasma and laser cutting, metal forming, welding, machining, and more to support global OEMs in North America.

THE POSITION

The General Manager is the primary leadership role within the manufacturing plant in Monterrey that is accountable for the financial performance of the plant.

They will ensure profitability, growth and future strategy of the plant to ensure the company achieves its short and long-term financial and operating objectives as set in the overall business plan.

The GM reports to the President based in the US headquarters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed profitability goals set for the Monterrey, Mexico plant with nearly 700 employees.
Create and implement the strategic business plan for the Monterrey, Mexico plant.
Hire, lead, evaluate, and develop a team of managers to ensure that the objectives set forth in the strategic business plan are met
Create a safe work environment that is in compliance with all internal company policies as well as all local, state and federal regulations
Drive the sales programs and strategy for all customers serviced by the plant
Provides accurate monthly projections to corporate Finance and the President
Establishes and maintains uniform production goals
Develop and implement plant performance plans and metrics that support the overall goals and objectives of the plant
Establish and oversee budgets, plans, policies, and programs that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives set by the President
Monitor the competitive environment to identify business threats and opportunities and develop business plans to address them
Represent the business in dealing with internal and external stakeholders, with a particular responsibility to develop and maintain good relations with customers and suppliers
Maintains consistent and responsive communication and reporting with corporate

THE CANDIDATE

Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years in general management roles in Manufacturing/Fabrication in Mexico is required.
Experience with metal fabrication, metal mechanical manufacturing, or heavy manufacturing is required.
P&L management and full profit center experience overseeing both manufacturing and sales.
General knowledge of pricing.
Experience developing a strategic business plan.
Able to work in a highpaced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must have excellent leadership skills.
Experience with ERP system required. EPICOR is a plus.
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
2 or 4year University degree, or equivalent experience, required. BA/BS preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
