Andrea González

I'm a creative person that's begining her career as a UX Designer. I'm interested in working in this area because of my background as a music composer. I love to learn new things, music, movies, art, creating thins, draw and read.

UX/UI DESIGN

In 2022 she began to persue her UX/UI Designer career because of the interest on the product design field. Her experience on the music business made her feel confident to began to take some courses from Google and CalArts to achieve her goal. She has the knowledge to comunicate with teamworkers and to build empathy towards everyone that's involved on the projects she's into. Also she knows the importance of the accesibility to include everyone on the final product. She have always had a genuine desire and an expectation for diversity, inclusion, and empathy within the communities she belongs to. Using a trans-disciplinary approach to design, she's able to leave behind the conventional methods.

MUSIC CAREER AS A COMPOSER

Young composer from Querétaro, México. Andrea González began her professional musical studies in 2013 at Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Michoacán, specializing in Composition under the mentorship of professor Ignacio Martínez Madrigal. 

Since 2014, she has had several premieres in Sala Niños Cantores at Conservatorio de las Rosas, as well as premieres in Mérida, Querétaro and CDMX. Andrea has taken master classes with composers such as Daniel Asia, Ignacio Baca Lobera, Ezequiel Menalled, José Luis Hurtado and Paulo Guicheney, and has collaborated in some pieces with musicians such as Omar López, Eva Zöllner, Heather Roche and Joshua Rubin.

In 2017 her piece “Ad infinitum” for accordion and electronics won first place at the call for scores of “Caja de viento” project directed by Eva Zöllner and the Germany-Mexico Alliance. Her piece "Estudio para el Bosco" was selected and premiered by Low Frequency Trio in their first call for scores.

She was one of the founding members of the collective "Interciclos" along with Ignacio Baca Lobera, Pablo Rubio Vargas, Germán López Vargas, Juan José Bárcenas, Ludwig Carrasco and Gabriel Hörner. In march 2019, her piece “Nosferatu no. 5 ” for orchestra, was performed by the Queretaro Orchestra (OFEQ) under the direction of Ludwig Carrasco at the Metropolitan Theater in Querétaro.In 2020 she was invited to the virtual event "TUES @ 7 by the International Contemporary Ensemble, 4G: Four Generations of Mexican Sonic Arts" where her video with electronics "Iron Giant in a Landscape" was premiered. In the same year she released her first solo album "Tapetum Lucidum". In 2021 The San Diego Museum of Art, Art of Elan and Joshua Rubin comissioned her to compose "Jabberwocky" for clarinet and electronics.
