Sobre Chely Sandoval:
Ms. Sandoval has worked for over 15 years in higher education as a student worker, staff, and adjunct faculty, which has provided her with a unique perspective on how different communities promote and enhance student learning. She served in department- and university-level committees, such as the Sustainability Committee at UCLA Recreation (2005-2008) and the Diversity and Gender Studies Advisory Council at Texas State University (2015-2016). She has also served for six years as an active member of the U.S. National Section, Pan American Institute for Geography and History, Organization of American States. These experiences have helped shape her career outlook and allowed her to participate in governance, policy revisions and recommendations, diversity discussions, and curriculum planning for a diverse student body, including students who identify as first-generation, LGBTQ+, and veterans.
In 2011, Ms. Sandoval graduated with a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies, Texas State University. In 2006, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
