May 1, 2021 – present - Working in the development workflows using Machine Learning & Deep Learning techniques (for instance optimization of History Matching, prediction of accurate PVT properties, forecasting of oil and/or water production, detection of faults in pipeline or in ESP with ANN, RNN, GA and/or Fuzzy Logic methods) for areas like Reservoir and Production Engineering in mature fields that have many years of history.

May 1, 2020 – July 26, 2020 - Generation of Transient Flow Analysis (RTA analysis) with Topaze from Kappa to identify flow geometry in wells, define initial fluid volume, maximum recovery and reservoir characteristics through diagnostic graphs tools, for 14 wells of Ixtal and 6 wells of Manik fields JSK & BKS formations. As well as the numerical model in Rubis for the east and green west block of the Ixtal BPKS field AAPC asset, Paraiso Tabs.

March 11, 2019 – April 30, 2020 - Reservoir Simulation Consultant with PetroleRFS, he is working in the generation of a new numerical model using the new reservoir simulation software for big fields, TNAVIGATOR (more than 2MM cells). The model is for Ku-Maloob-Zaap Complex, it has almost 300 wells, dual porosity, compositional (heavy oil) with N2 and gas injection and this big field has years 40 of history. The main tasks were using the high-resolution gridding to define distribution of the initial and current fluid saturation. Make the history matching process to identify the oil window or residual oil zone for the KMZ Asset, Cd. del Carmen, Campeche.

October 3, 2018 – February 28, 2019 - Reservoir Simulation Consultant for the PetroleRFS company, J. Daniel is working in the construction of the numerical simulation model for blocks North JSK formation and the blocks North, Central and South KM formation of the mature field Terra Mesozoic, the model is compositional (volatile oil), with 300M cells, 16 wells producers double porosity using PETREL-ECLIPSE. The main activities were to validate the basic information of fluids, rock system and reservoir engineering to match the pressure-production history and generate recovery scenarios (secondary and/or tertiary) that are feasible for the field. Samaria asset PEMEX, Villahermosa Tabs.

April 9, 2018 – September 7, 2018 – Production Engineer Consultant, generation of simulation models of the Ixtal-A and Chuc-A network. The activities carried out were to evaluate different alternatives of flow of the network between the platforms Ixtal-A and Chuc-A to identify variations in the pressures of in/out, as well as the slug analysis, restrictions, level and flow stability in the ducts. Using wells or sources in the models, for production rates in GAP and OLGA software, working for Paradigm. Paraiso, Tabs.

October 17, 2016 – January 13, 2017 – Reservoir Engineer, in charge of carrying out processes and workflows for fluid analysis and pressure maintenance for the CICERM (Extra Heavy Crude Oil and Enhanced Recovery Research Center). Using fluid mechanics correlations to generate analytical sheets to model horizontal completions. Geoestratos Company in Mérida Yuc.

May 1, 2015 – February 28, 2016 – Reservoir Simulation – Making the Dynamic Model of the Artesa Permian, Macuspana-Muspac Field. The Model is done in ECLIPSE 100 with the dynamic and static behavior of the 3 main sandstone reservoirs, multiples water-oil contacts (50 equilibrium regions), high heterogeneity and 38 oil well producers. The task was: perform the dynamic characterization of the field (MBAL model, the DCA, the estimation of the energy mechanisms, fluid estimation OOIIP & reserves for each reservoir and sand, and the full numerical model matching the production-pressure of 30 years old. The main point of this simulation model was to estimate the recoverable volume of oil with the scenarios: base and work-overs. Reforma Chiaps, Mx. 

September 3, 2012 – February 11, 2015 – J. Daniel worked as Reservoir Engineer in the SMA field, with more than 40 years of history, with dozens of sands and 300 hundreds wells for the Petrofac Company, performing the management, documentation and decision for to drill 13 new locations; as well as the identification and execution of 8 wells for work-over. He was responsible to do the Field Development Plan of production for the next 23 years, defining the strategies and actions of the new locations to drill, identification and execution of the wells for work-overs for the Sanchez Magallanes Tertiary field. It was built the analytical simulation model with MBAL-PROSPER-GAP and the numerical simulation model of the South Block of the SMA with PETREL-ECLIPSE in Villahermosa Tabs.

January 15, 2008 – August 31, 2012 – Reservoir Engineering Consultant for Halliburton, in charge of carrying out activities of uncertainty & risk, through evaluating multiple scenarios and deciding the best technical-economic production alternative for different fields in the north and Gulf of Mexico. The main activities as project leader were the FEL-V and the Dynamic model for the Jurassic Arenque field, as well as the dynamic and statistical models for the fields: Faja de Oro Marina, Ogarrio, Crudo Ligero Marino and Duna-Mareografo using analytical and numerical probabilistic models with DMS-EXCEL-ECLIPSE. June 1, 2003 – December 24, 2007 – J. Daniel worked as a Support Engineer in the Reservoir Engineering area, with the Schlumberger Company. The activities carried out correspond to technical support in specialized applications and building of numerical models for different naturally fractured reservoirs for shallow marine fields. The main fields where Daniel Dillanes worked are: Abkatun-Pol-Chuc JSK, Taratunich, Kaan, Ixtal, Homol and Etkal Jurassic in the area located in the Tabasco coast. Paraíso Tabs. 

He got the Degree as Petroleum Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM, 1997-2002). During his professional career, he has approved different courses that qualify him as a specialist in Reservoir & Production Area.
