Downstream Process Development

I have the expertise, training, and necessary motivation to successfully carry out the production and characterization of recombinant proteins. I have a broad background in the protein biotechnology, with specific training and expertise in the expression, purification and refolding recombinant protein using the Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris expression platforms. I have collaborated on the development of protocols for the expression, purification and refolding of recombinant proteins of parasites such as, Entamoeba histolytica, Trichomonas vaginalis and Trypanosoma cruzi for structure-function studies, diagnostic tools, and vaccine development. I have involved in mentoring graduate students, collaborated with other researchers, and published peer-reviewed papers.

Additionally, I have the expertise, training, and necessary motivation to successfully carry out bench scale experimentation with membrane technologies such as sterile membrane filtration, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, single pass tangential flow filtration, viral reduction filtration, as well as chromatography, and working collaboratively with a team of local account managers to provide technical expertise on membrane technologies to local clients
