As a passionate and accomplished photographer and visual storyteller, my journey in the world of photography has taken me on a dynamic and diverse path. Born in Mexico City in 1971, I embarked on my photographic education at the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA.
My career began as a photojournalist at Reforma newspaper in Mexico City, where I honed my skills in capturing powerful and impactful images that brought the stories to life. Through my lens, I documented the vibrant essence of Mexico's cultural and social landscape.
Driven by a desire to explore the broader realms of visual storytelling, I transitioned into the role of a photo editor, working with esteemed publications such as Excelsior and Editorial Expansion. This allowed me to curate and enhance compelling visual narratives that resonated with audiences and elevated the overall impact of the stories.
My expertise and keen eye for capturing the essence of a moment led me to collaborate with renowned contemporary artists such as Miguel Calderon and Ariel Shlesinger. Additionally, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including the University of Texas, Nestle, Televisa, and Heineken. Through documentary photography and video, I have helped bring their visions to life, capturing authentic and captivating imagery that speaks volumes.
Beyond my commercial work, I have also dedicated myself to personal projects that delve into significant and poignant subject matters. Notably, I embarked on a project documenting the stories of Holocaust survivors in Mexico, shedding light on their resilience and honoring their legacies. Furthermore, I traveled to Kosovo to capture the spirit of independence, as well as embarked on a mission to Darien, Panama with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), documenting the challenges and triumphs of this vital humanitarian effort.
My passion for photography goes beyond the technical aspects, as I strive to create images that evoke emotions, challenge perspectives, and spark conversations. With a contemporary and artistic approach, I continuously push boundaries and seek innovative ways to communicate visual narratives.
