Oscar Edigar Barreto Pérez

I am a Mexican 22-year-old lover of new technologies and their implementation into the construction industry, being a true believer that it is necessary to revolutionize the construction processes through tools such as BIM methodology, Lean Construction, or Business Intelligence. My greatest passion is to learn new things in search of expanding my knowledge and being more competitive professionally. I consider myself an empathetic and sociable person, who works and collaborates proactively with others, in search of the common good.

My experience as CAD Designer started on June 2019, with the company “VAVA Consultants” in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. During my time there I developed several proposals and designs of architectural plants, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in more than 20 projects related to Gas Stations. Also, I have vast experience developing, designing, and managing PEMEX design brand projects, in which I have had the opportunity to generate more than 100 Architectural and detail sheets. As a result of the work done, more than 15 projects were approved by Pemex supervisors. 

Since July 2022 until date, I have been working as a modeler and BIM Coordinator Jr. in the company “Sohersa BIM”. I have more than 1,000 hours of experience modeling in Revit, where I have participated in 10 projects with the BIM methodology, in which I have developed Architectural, Structural, and MEP models with a Level of Development (LOD) between 200 and 450. Another of my preferred jobs was coordinate more than 10 BIM models in a convention center using Autodesk Construction Cloud. In that project, I had the opportunity to be the host of coordination meetings, where I showed the incidents between MEP, structure, and architecture models and generate reports with Autodesk Construction Cloud. Also, I coordinate a MEP project for a shopping mall with a special focus on disciplines like Fire detection, Intrusion alarms, sound devices system, CCTV, Voice & Data, lighting, and power plug installation. 

Other work experience:

- I participated in writing a BIM Book, in which I had the opportunity to develop an entire chapter about BIM introduction into the operation and maintenance projects phase.

- I am passionate about innovation; therefore, I try to automatize construction processes using programming. So, I developed an entire construction budget integrating data obtained from BIM models and datasheets. 

- Coordinating teams is another of my abilities, actively participating in work planning and time deadlines using project management software (Jira, having direct communication with clients and team members. 

- Experience working and developing Business Execution Plans (BEP) and developing Revit families according to datasheets and manuals.

I am currently studying my 8th semester of the civil engineering degree at Instituto Tecnológico Y De Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (8-semester plan), where I have an accumulated GPA of 4.0 and recognitions for the best GPA in 3rd and 7th semester. Talking about certifications, I have more than 10 certifications from LinkedIn Learning and Sohersa BIM related to the AEC Industry and BIM methodology. Also, I want to increase my knowledge with more courses related to BIM methodology, Revit, Dynamo, and programming.
